Lady Gaga Offered $3.9 Mil to Do Comedy for the First Time in 'Zoolander 2'

It's been 11 years since the release of Zoolander, and Ben Stiller and Company are still pressing ahead with plans to make a sequel. The latest news is that pop star Lady Gaga has been offered £3 million (or $3.9 million in American) to make her comedic debut as Derek Zoolander's love interest, according to the Telegraph. The sequel, to be written and directed by Stiller's Tropic Thunder cohort Justin Theroux, is targeted for a 2014 release. Steve Carell has signed on to co-star in Swear To God with Will Ferrell. Will, who's also producing, will play a hedge fund manager who thinks he sees God. It has yet to be specified but presumably, Carell will play the friend or enemy of a hedge fund manager who thinks he sees God. He was probably cast because he knows what it's like to act like you've talked to God. Justin "Just In The Roux" Theroux is set to direct and rewrite the original script. Zoolander 2 — In Movie Form — Coming in 2012

OK, first there were reports of a Zoolander sequel being written by Justin Theroux. Then Ben Stiller said he was going to make animated Zoolander web shorts in lieu of a sequel. And now Paramount has said that it's planning to have a real-deal Zoolander 2 movie out in 2012. Whatever, guys, just figure your shit out and get back to us.
