Amazon Buys Two New Original Comedies

Online retailer Amazon is gearing up to launch its first batch of original shows, and it looks like they'll be making a big push for comedy. Amazon is preparing to greenlight its first pilot for a single-camera sitcom called Browsers from longtime Daily Show writer/producer David Javerbaum, Deadline reports. Browsers will follow four interns at a HuffPo-esque website with musical elements woven throughout. The pilot is expected to film in January. Amazon is also developing Dark Minions, an animated show written by Big Bang Theory regulars John Ross Bowie and Kevin Sussman that follows two misfits working on an evil space station.
