FX and FXX Cancel 'Legit' and 'Chozen'

Sister networks FX and FXX just canceled two of their comedies. THR reports that FX has canceled Legit and that FXX has canceled Chozen. Both series have been suffering from low ratings. Chozen, a first-year animated show about a profane white rapper voiced by Bobby Moynihan, ended its one and only season in March. Legit, co-created by and starring Australian comedian Jim Jeffries as a fictionalized version of himself, concludes its second season tonight on FX.

Talking to Jim Jefferies About His New FX Show 'Legit', 'Louie' Comparisons, and Australia vs. the UK vs. the US

Jim Jefferies has a lot of experience playing a version of himself; his standup specials are filled with real life stories of fights, drugs and sex toys. In his new show Legit, premiering Thursday on FX, he again appears as version of himself, a foulmouthed Australian comic trying to make it in Los Angeles.

The show's pilot is also based on a true story, in which Jefferies accompanies a severely disabled friend to a brothel to lose his virginity. In his real life, Jefferies adventures now are more likely to focus on his two-month old son, who he was patiently trying to calm during our recent phone interview, as we talked about [...]

FX Doubles Down on the Aussies with Legit

FX has found success by looking down under with their excellent remake of Wilfred, and now they're looking back to Australia for their next comedy. They've just ordered a pilot presentation for Legit, a new comedy from Australian comedian Jim Jeffries that'll be about "a misanthrope trying to go legit." Trying and failing, I assume.

FX Sets Premiere Dates for 'Archer' and 'Chozen'

FX has set January premiere dates for Archer and Danny McBride's new animated sitcom Chozen. The two will air in an animation block on Monday nights at 10 PM, starting January 13. Meanwhile, at the fledgling FXX, the recently announced Ali G: Rezurection will be paired with the second season of Jim Jefferies' Legit in February.

Chozen, which was originally scheduled to air on FXX, is about a gay white rapper named Chozen who has just been released from prison. It's executive produced by Archer creator Adam Reed and Eastbound & Down producers Danny McBride, David Gordon Green, and Jody Hill, and includes voices from McBride, Bobby Moynihan, Hannibal Buress, Nick Swardson, Kathryn Hahn, and more. FX Announces January Premieres for 'Archer,' 'Totally Biased,' and Jim Jefferies's New Show

FX just announced that it's premiering a Thursday night comedy block on January 17th, 2013. Charlie Sheen's Anger Management (which was recently picked up for 90 episodes as part of mindless march towards syndication) will kick things off with back-to-back episodes at 9 and 9:30 before settling into the 9:30 timeslot for good. The fourth season of Archer will air at 10, followed by Legit, a new series starring Australian comedian Jim Jefferies at 9:30. The supporting cast for Legit features Dan Bakkedahl (The Daily Show), D.J. Qualls (Road Trip), and Gillian Vigman (MADtv), and the show follows Jefferies in his quest to "become legitimate in life." So, [...]

Jim Jefferies Stuffed the UK's Vanna White in a Suitcase in the Trunk of His Car

Australian comedian Jim Jefferies (FX's new series Legit) has a fascinating story for Conan that's probably the best story about game show sidekick smuggling ever told.

FX Orders New Comedy 'Legit' with Jim Jeffries, Dan Bakkedahl and D.J. Qualls

FX is doubling down on the Aussies. Having already found a hit with down under import Wilfred, the cable network has just placed a 13-episode order for Legit from Australian comedian Jim Jeffries. Here's what we know about the show so far: Co-created by Peter O’Fallon and Jefferies, Legit is about a comedian, “Jim” (Jefferies) and his misguided attempts to become legitimate in life. He is encouraged in his quest by his best friend “Steve” (Dan Bakkedahl), and Steve’s brother “Billy” (D.J. Qualls).

How delightfully vague! But they've got plenty of time to get all the details out there, as the show won't premiere until next January. But [...]
