Ron Livingston to Star in AMC's 'We Hate Paul Revere' Comedy Pilot

It's been over a year and a half since AMC announced that they were working on a Colonial Boston-themed comedy pilot by Whitney writer/producers Adrian Wenner and Ethan Sandler called We Hate Paul Revere, but today The Wrap reports that the network has finally signed on a star to play the titular role. Talking to Matt Piedmont About 'The Spoils of Babylon' and 'Saturday Night Live'

What began as a joke Matt Piedmont thought of in a bookstore became the IFC miniseries The Spoils of Babylon, which he co-created and co-wrote with Andrew Steele. Inspired by the epic miniseries of the ‘80s, Spoils has an equally epic cast to match, with Kristen Wiig, Will Ferrell, Tobey Maguire, Val Kilmer, Haley Joel Osment, and a Carey Mulligan-voiced-mannequin. I recently got the chance to talk to Piedmont about his inspiration for The Spoils of Babylon, directing material he wrote, and writing for Saturday Night Live.

Kristen Wiig and Tobey Maguire Join Will Ferrell in IFC's 'Spoils of Babylon'

Funny or Die's new IFC miniseies The Spoils of Babylon is sounding better and better by the minute. Kristen Wiig and Tobey Maguire have signed on to star opposite Will Ferrell in the six-episode series, which is expected to debut in late 2013. Produced by Ferrell and McKay via their Funny or Die label, Spoils of Babylon is a parody of epic '80s miniseries like The Thorn Birds and Winds of War. It's being written by Andrew Steele and directed by Matt Piedmont, the team behind Ferrell's Casa de mi Padre.
