Jennifer Aniston in Talks to Star in 'Mean Girls'-Esque Movie 'Mean Moms'

Jennifer Aniston is "in early talks" to star in Mean Moms, a Mean Girls-esque big-screen comedy being directed by Beth McCarthy-Miller, who served as SNL's in-house director from 1995-2006, Variety reports. Although the comedy is not a sequel to Mean Girls, it's based on the same set of advice books for parents by Rosalind Wiseman. The plot follows a mother of two who moves to the upscale suburbs and meets a bunch of very competitive parents, and the studio is expected to be looking for big names to round out the all-female cast. Jeff Richmond Says the 'Mean Girls' Musical Is "Actually Becoming a Thing"

Tina Fey told reporters in January that she was hoping to develop a Mean Girls musical, and now her husband/composer Jeff Richmond revealed to Vulture that "It's actually becoming a thing!" Richmond added, "We're taking meetings with people; I've profiled Broadway folks, who are talking to us about it. It's a long process — a year, two years, however long it might take. Tina Fey Wants to Make a 'Mean Girls' Musical

Tina Fey is hoping to work on a musical based on the movie Mean Girls soon. While asked about it on the red carpet at the SAG Awards last night, Fey said, "Maybe! We want to. I would love to. I'm trying to develop it with my husband, who does all the music for 30 Rock and I think Paramount's onboard." She also mentioned Mariah Carey as a possibility for Amy Poehler's "cool mom" part.
