Here's Parks and Recreation star Nick Offerman on Leno last night, serenading his wife Megan Mullally (who's not there) with a tune he wrote called "The Rainbow Song." Fellow Leno guest Usher doesn't seem to approve.
This post is brought to you by Out There, premiering tonight at 10:30/9:30c on IFC.
Ryan Quincy has been working in animation for well over a decade. He spent 12 years on South Park (he's featured in the behind-the-scenes documentary 6 Days to Air) and now he's taking his original characters to IFC in his new animated series Out There (which premieres tonight at 10:30/9:30c on IFC). I had a chance to chat with Quincy about the show, his "out there" character designs, and fainting in sex ed class.
Tell us what Out There is all about, and how it came to IFC.
Ron Swanson's ex-wife Tammy #2 will continue her streak of annual Parks and Rec appearances this season, TVGuide reports. Megan Mullally will be back as Tammy, who returns to jeopardize Ron Swanson's new relationship with a citizen named Diane (played by Xena: Warrior Princess's Lucy Lawless). As if Ron Swanson doesn't already have enough intimidating ladies in his life.
Nick Offerman did a Reddit AMA last Friday and was the best. Unlike many people who only answer the serious questions (I'm looking atchu Barry Obams), Offerman seemingly veered towards the sillier stuff. Below read his best quotes on the topics of wood, his wife, Parks & Rec and more!
On how he is drastically different from Ron:
I wouldn't call it drastic, but my penis is 5/8" larger than Ron's, in both length AND breadth, but it is held that he wields his with greater aplomb.
On Amy Poehler:
I met Amy in the early 90's and she is like a superhero mixed with both Coach and Tammie [...]
But seriously, what the juice? This is Ben Schwartz in the part he was born to play: an excited teenager. Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja debuts next month on Disney XD, Disney's animated action-orientated kids network that you probably didn't know existed. The show is about Schwartz's character finding an 800-year-old ninja guide called "NinjaNomicon" (I'm not making this stuff up) and using it to fight bad guys and get through high school. The show also features Jim Rash, Tim Curry, Megan Mullally, and John Oliver, so let's all start making babies fast so we don't look weird watching it. Speaking of weird, watch the clip below that explains [...]
Here's the trailer for a new coming of age comedy called The Kings of Summer, in which Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally play supporting roles as the parents of a couple of the lead characters. Directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts (Comedy Central's Mash Up), the movie drew critical acclaim when it premiered at Sundance earlier this year, despite the casting director making a big mistake by casting real life married couple Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally as the parents of different kids.
30 Rock only has five episodes left, set to conclude its seven-year run with an double-length episode on January 31st, but some familiar faces are returning to help the show say goodbye. TV Line reports that tomorrow's episode will feature the return of Will Arnett as Jack's deep-voiced nemesis Devon Banks, Steve Buscemi as oddball private investigator Lenny Wosniak, Megan Mullally as Liz Lemon's adoption caseworker from season 3, and Chloe Grace Moretz as teenage heir to the Kabletown empire Kaylie Hooper. Oscar winner Octavia Spencer will also be appearing as herself, the star of a movie Tracy Jordan is directing. Additionally, Entertainment Weekly reports that Salma Hayek [...]
Seriously, right? I could listen to them sing the "Just like old man Mose" line for eternity. I think this might even beat Stephanie Hunt's old band, Dillon, Texas's own Crucifictorious. Below watch them be the best and talk about starting the band.
The past decade has seen a major boom in the comedy industry, as more and more avenues for funny people to make comedy (original cable shows, podcasts, Twitter, etc.) have emerged, meaning more and more people are employed in comedy than ever before. Sometimes, these funny people date, marry, and even have children with each other, combining their funny genetics to produce (presumably) even funnier spawn. From Will Arnett and Amy Poehler to Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman, it seems like there are more of these comedy couples by [...]
Well, this seems like a fun time. The best part, other than all the parts, is that Alison Brie isn't even in this movie. She must've just did this as a friendly gesture. Meaning Megan probably texted her one Sunday and been like, "Hey Al, we are shooting this promo thing for a movie we're in that Nick produced. You want to appear in it and maybe stay for dinner. Nick is grilling some steaks, you know Nick, and I'm making a salad with some veggies I got from the Silverlake farmers market." (Megan Mullally is famous for long texts.) This movie doesn't come out until next March, so [...]
Here's Megan Mullally performing a cover of rapper Riskay's "Smell Yo Dick" with her musical duo "Nancy and Beth" (a.k.a. Mullally and Friday Night Lights actress Stephanie Hunt) at the Largo in Los Angeles, featuring a surprise cameo from Mullally's husband and frequent co-star Nick Offerman. Rapping about dicks is the furthest thing from playing Ron Swanson Nick Offerman has ever done.
IFC just announced the voice cast for its new animated series Out There, which premieres February 22nd on the cable network. Fred Armisen, Megan Mullally, Linda Cardellini, Pamela Adlon (Louie, the voice of Bobby on King of the Hill), John DiMaggio (Bender from Futurama), and Kate Micucci (of Garfunkel and Oates fame) will make up the principal voice cast along with the show's creator Ryan Quincy and Justin Roiland (Channel 101), who voice the two lead characters. Ryan Quincy, South Park's Emmy-winning animation director, created, wrote, and produced Out There, which follows a socially awkward kid named Chad (voiced by Quincy), his best friend Chris (Roiland), and little [...]
On the most recent episode of Comedy Bang! Bang!, Megan Mullally let a couple of juicy details slip about the much-wished-for Party Down movie. The most encouraging news is that it appears that the movie has financing, pending script approval, which was one of the biggest hurdles to the film getting made. And once that script approval comes in and the money starts flowing, they're hoping to shoot next spring or summer during the hiatus for everyone's TV gigs.
And she made it very clear that the entire cast is super excited to get back into their bow ties, saying that there'd be "some sort of [...]
