Here's the Trailer for Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi's Vampire Mockumentary 'What We Do in the Shadows'

Here's the trailer for What We Do in the Shadows directed by Taika Waititi and Flight of the Conchords' Jemaine Clement, who both worked together on the 2007 film Eagle vs Shark. What We Do in the Shadows follows three immortal roommates in what appears to be a delightful mashup of vampire movies, mockumentaries, and an episode of Real World. The film premiered at Sundance this year and will debut in New Zealand in June; it's still seeking a distributor for the US.

Help Fund the Standup Documentary/Mockumentary Hybrid 'This Is Comedy'

Standup/director Tom McCaffrey is seeking funding via Kickstarter for his new movie, This Is Comedy, a combination documentary/mockumentary that will chronicle the lives of real standup comedians while also documenting the fake struggles of McCaffrey. He's already shot interviews with Janeane Garofalo, Jim Gaffigan, Margaret Cho, Sean Patton, and others, and is looking for $17,500 finish the film in case you have that much money to give or just a fraction of it.

Ricky Gervais Wants David Brent to Star in a Rock Band Mockumentary

Ricky Gervais has been reviving his classic Office character David Brent several times over the past year — from the web short "The Return of Brent" to two hit UK gigs as Brent's rock band Foregone Conclusion — and as Chortle reports, Gervais has called the band performances a "Trojan Horse" to get Brent back on television.

Christopher Guest Casts His New Comedy with Exactly Who You'd Expect Him to Cast

It’s been six long years since Christopher Guest’s last comedy, For Your Consideration, but he’s finally back behind the camera for a new HBO/BBC2 series called Family Tree, which sees Guest working in the mockumentary format that he’s done so well with in the past. The Hollywood Reporter, um, reports that Fred Willard, Michael McKean and Ed Begley Jr., all members of the Christopher Guest Repertory Company, have signed on for recurring roles, which begs the question: “Where are Eugene Levy, Harry Shearer, and Catherine O’Hara?”

Here's the first trailer for Chris Lilley upcoming HBO show Ja'mie King: Private School Girl. The  six-episode series, which debuts in the US on November 24, follows Lilley's popular Ja'mie King character as she returns to private school. It's the third appearance of King on Lilley's mockumentary-style shows, having appeared previously on Summer Heights High and Angry Boys. The show is a co-production between the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, the BBC, and HBO.
