Amy Schumer Set to Host the 2015 MTV Movie Awards

Amy Schumer took over MTV's social media accounts last night to reveal some big news: She's officially signed on to host next year's MTV Movie Awards, which is set to air live from Los Angeles on Sunday, April 12th a 9:00pm. "Wickedly funny and sharply insightful, Amy Schumer is perhaps the most ascendant talent in comedy today and she's on the brink of an epic year," said MTV President Stephen Friedman in a statement. "We are thrilled to work with Amy to create an unpredictable and hilarious showcase for Hollywood's biggest blockbusters and brightest stars in what promises to be the most combustible Movie Awards ever."

Conan O'Brien's Best Non-Talk Show Hosting Moments

Last night, Conan O'Brien announced that he's set to host the MTV Movie Awards next month. While this is surprisingly the first time O'Brien has been hired to host the MTV awards show, he's certainly no stranger to bringing a consistently funny and delightfully weird performance to all of his hosting gigs, from his time on Late Night, The Tonight Show, and Conan to a slew of host and guest speaker spots he's had since the mid-'90s. To anticipate what's sure to be an entertaining MTV Movie Awards come April 13th, here's a look at some of Conan's best non-talk show hosting moments, from the earliest to most [...]

Will Ferrell Will Receive the MTV Movie Awards' First-Ever "Comedic Genius Award"

MTV announced today that they're handing out a new annual prize at the MTV Movie Awards this year. It's called the "Comedy Genius Award," and Will Ferrell will be the recipient of the first one ever at the 2013 Movie Awards, which'll be held on April 14th and be hosted by Rebel Wilson if you aren't totally sick of awards shows already after these past couple months.

Jason Sudeikis Annoys Emma Stone, Kristen Stewart

Here are a couple of new promos for the MTV Movie Awards, which Jason Sudeikis is hosting a week from Sunday. In them, he shows up to introduce himself to/harass the folks that will be up for the very prestigious awards that they hand out for stuff like Best Kiss and Sexiest Tween or whatever the hell they do at that wards show. Watch Conan O'Brien's Cameo-Packed Opening for the MTV Movie Awards

Here's the opening of last night's MTV Movie Awards hosted by Conan O'Brien, who manages to scrape together 50 celebrity cameos in less than four minutes. Click through to see O'Brien's opening monologue as well as the full list of this year's winners.

Conan O'Brien Announces He's Hosting the 2014 MTV Movie Awards

Conan O'Brien announced last night that he'll be hosting the MTV Movie Awards — the only awards show that matters — on Sunday April 13th at 9:00pm, which won't conflict with all the hot TV shows on Sunday nights (they checked). The nominees will be announced tomorrow morning at 7:00am via MTV's website. This makes Conan's first MTV Movie Awards hosting gig; he's hosted the Emmys twice in 2002 and 2006 and also co-hosted in 2003.

Rebel Wilson Is Your 2013 MTV Movie Awards Host

Bridesmaids and Pitch Perfect star Rebel Wilson has just been tapped by MTV to be the host of the network's 22nd annual MTV Movie Awards next year. The ceremony is set to air on April 14th and sees the trend of MTV using a comedian to host the awards show continue. Russell Brand hosted last time and was preceded by Jason Sudeikis, Aziz Ansari, Andy Samberg, Mike Myers, and Sarah Silverman before him. Prior to that, the MTV Movie Awards were in a weird era where they hired people like Jessica Alba and Lindsay Lohan to host. Rebel Wilson, who hails from Australia, has been keeping especially busy [...]

Jason Sudeikis To Host MTV Movie Awards

Ryan Seacrest announced earlier today that Jason Sudeikis will host the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, June 5 at 9pm. Sudeikis joins the eight other SNL alums who have hosted in the past, including Andy Samberg, Eddie Murphy and the illimitable Jon Lovitz. 2011 hasn't exactly been a gangbuster year for films so far, but if Aziz Ansari could mine Avatar for gold in 2010, I think we'd be okay with a few more Black Swan jokes, right? I'm pretty sure we can count on at least one monkey-nibbling-a-weenis tribute number, and that's enough for me to tune in.

Amy Schumer Befriends Anna Kendrick in Her First MTV Movie Awards Promo

Amy Schumer is hosting this year's MTV Movie Awards, and the network released the first promo today featuring Schumer making a (very reluctant) new best friend Anna Kendrick. The awards show airs on MTV Sunday, April 12th at 8:00pm.

'This Is the End' and 'Anchorman 2' Earn MTV Movie Award Nominations

MTV unveiled their list of Movie Awards nominees this morning, and because MTV is fond of including a bunch of silly categories like "Best Shirtless Performance" and "#WTF Moment," the comedy world had a much bigger presence on the list than the typical awards show. Both This Is the End and Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues scored four nominations, including for cameo scenes from the Rihanna and the Backstreet Boys (This Is the End) as well as Anchorman's Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Kanye West. The Best Comedic Performance category has only one lady — Melissa McCarthy for The Heat — paired with Jason Sudeikis (We're the Millers), [...]

Watch Aubrey Plaza Try to Steal Will Ferrell's MTV Movie Award

Last night during the MTV Movie Awards, Aubrey Plaza ran onstage and tried to grab Will Ferrell's "Comedic Genius award" out of his hands during his acceptance speech (at the 1:53 mark in the above video). She had the title to her upcoming movie The To Do List written in marker on her chest, and quickly returned to her seat after about ten seconds of trying to take Ferrell's award. MTV is claiming that the stunt was unplanned and that Plaza was removed from the premises after the incident, but she did appear in the audience later in the show so that could be bullshit. Watch the video [...]

Jason Sudeikis Plays the Made-Up Soundtrack to Our Lives at the MTV Movie Awards

Their film might not be a Jaws-caliber cinematic gem, but if a performer is committed enough to his or her craft to get other people's feces in their screaming mouths, then they too deserve a memorable theme song. Jason Sudeikis channeled the hell-bound spirit of Randy Newman and penned a few winners for MTV Movie Awards' fake theme songs bit, celebrating Jackass 3D, skinny Seth Rogen and a festive golden shower with Emma Stone. Because what's a hot jet of urine between platonic friends who also happen to have sex? Buried!
