Fox's midseason schedule is out, with new comedy Breaking In premiering before New Girl on March 6 as part of a 2-hour Tuesday sitcom block. Meanwhile, Napoleon Dynamite and the new season of Bob's Burgers will join the Sunday Animation Domination lineup on Jan. 15 and March 11, respectively.
Fox loves itself some animation! It just ordered two new animated series for next year, one based on Napoleon Dynamite and one from Jonah Hill.
Apparently, Fox is confident in its new animated series. It just ordered six more scripts of Jonah Hill's Allen Gregory and seven more of Napoleon Dynamite. This isn't quite an order for more episodes, but it's close. While Allen Gregory looks pretty good, I still can't quite understand whose idea it was to turn Napoleon Dynamite into a cartoon series, let alone order a bunch more scripts for it. But hey, maybe it'll be the greatest thing ever! You never know, guys. You really never know.
I'm sure there are a lot of other questions people might have about the new Napoleon Dynamite show, such as "Why did it take this long after the movie to be made?" and "Does it even make sense as a cartoon?" and "What?" However, the Napoleon Dynamite animated trailer leaves me with only one query: where is Kip's wife Lafawnduh? Based on the series description, the new show takes places after Pedro's election as class president, ergo it would seem to follow the same time line and reality of the movie.
