Colin Jost Addresses Weekend Update Criticism, Insists He'll Be Funnier Next Season

The New York Post ran a brief interview with SNL head writer and not-so-well-received Weekend Update anchor Colin Jost over the weekend, and aside all but confirming that he's set to return to the Update desk next season, he addressed some of the criticism that's come his way since he joined the cast back in March.

On juggling the Update gig with his job as head writer:

Even when you have two or three [new people], it's challenging. You want to learn their voices so you can write for [them]. When you have so many people … you don't get as much time to spend with the [...]

The New York Post Knows a Thing or Two About Racism

The swamis at the New York Post think they know which three shows will be canceled first this fall: NBC's Indian call center comedy Outsourced, Mitch Hurwitz's Running Wilde and some ridiculous-sounding Jimmy Smits show called Outlaw. Now, I haven't seen any of these pilots, but I will say that I have a hard time believing that a show will be canceled because of "inappropriate cultural snarks" when it's coming from a paper that employs Sean Delonas.
