Comedy Central Orders a 'BriTANick' Pilot

Comedy Central is teaming up with online sketch duo BriTANick to create a new show. THR reports that the cable network has ordered a pilot created by and starring BriTANick's Nick Kocher and Brian McElhaney, much in the same way they recently developed the web series Broad City into a TV show.

The pilot will star Kocher and McElhaney as a pair of fictional best friends who get into silly adventures based on their own real experiences. In the episode, "Nick fakes his own death to get out of a relationship as Brian tries to buy his way back into one."

Talking to BriTANick's Brian and Nick About Shooting Joss Whedon's Much Ado About Nothing

Earlier this week, Avengers director Joss Whedon made a surprise announcement: he had just finished shooting a previously unannounced movie, a version of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing. The cast is full of Whedon regulars, but the cast list also featured some notable internet comedy folks, including Garfunkel and Oates' Riki Lindhome and BriTANick's Brian McElhaney and Nick Kocher.

I talked to Brian and Nick about getting asked to be in the project, what it was like shooting a movie in Joss Whedon's house over the course of a couple of weeks, and about their own movie they're in the planning stages of right now.

Sketch Duo BriTANick to Write, Direct, and Star in Their Own Movie

Lionsgate is developing a comedy with sketch group duo BriTANicK, Variety reports. Brian McElhaney and Nick Kocher are set to direct, produce, and star in the unnamed project, though Lionsgate is keeping details on the film under wraps. BriTANicK has produced videos for CollegeHumor, Cracked, Break, and FunnyOrDie, made our list of "The 11 Best Sketch Groups on the Internet", and appeared in both Joss Whedon's take on Much Ado About Nothing last year as well as the upcoming comedy Intramural starring Jack Lacy and Kate McKinnon.

Joss Whedon Fills Much Ado About Nothing With Comedy Faces

Made in his spare moments on The Avengers set or through some sort of astral projection, Joss Whedon's Much Ado About Nothing is officially on the way, at least according to link tweeted by Firefly actor Nathan Fillion yesterday. Other than the fact that its principal photography has been completed (the most important of all photographies to complete!), the main takeaway of the somewhat mysteries image would be all the comedy peeps that will been in it, including Brian McElhaney and Nick Kocher of BriTANicK and Garfunkel And Oates' Riki Lindhome. Oh, and it's based on a play. That play? That play.

Watch BriTANicK's New Video "Sexy Pool Party"

Here's the latest video from sketch comedy duo BriTANicK, their first new video in nearly six months because they're super busy with other stuff. The video has racked up over a million hits in less than a day, which due to it being called "Sexy Pool Party" and partly due to it being a super funny video.
