Conner O'Malley (UCB's The Law Firm) drops by to show his perverse fandom of Entourage by watching that episode where Turtle gets those shoes. You Had To Be There #105: Jim & Jeannie Gaffigan

This week, Sara and Nikki relive their surreal evening spent amongst random celebrities and teenage screams. Comedy power couple Jim and Jeannie Gaffigan (Comedy Central, Twitter & Twitter) make their triumphant return to the podcast and speculate about the pitfalls of Taylor-level fame. Jim's new book, Dad is Fat, drops next week, but you should preorder a copy now just in case. Written with Jeannie and inspired by their five kids, the book is an astonishingly hilarious and oppressively addicting collection of essays on fatherhood. For the rest of the hour, the gang discusses collaborating with a writing partner, treating stand-up as therapy, [...]

Gallagher Aftermath, and More Highlights from Marc Maron's Reddit AMA

Marc Maron Is Everywhere Week continues as the comedian is popping up all over the place to promote his new book and IFC show. Maron did a question-and-answer session on Reddit yesterday and discussed a wide variety of topics, including whether or not he's talked to Gallagher since his ill-fated interview with the racist prop comic, his dream WTF guests, and how he has zero relationship with Conan O'Brien off-camera despite 20 years of appearing on his shows. Check out all the best parts and none of the worst parts from the Reddit session below:

Kurt Braunohler Has a Nerdist Podcast Now

The Nerdist Podcast Network has added another promising new show to its lineup. After launching a podcast hosted by Matt Braunger earlier this month, Nerdist launched one called The K Ohle with Kurt Braunohler today. Host Kurt Braunohler, comedy partner of Kristen Schaal and host of the now-defunct IFC game show Bunk, plans to switch the format of his show up week-to-week, unlike most podcasts. Future episode formats include "PETophilia" (centered on the discussion of pets and sharing of animal stories) and "Get Lost!" (in which Braunohler blindfolds his guest and drives them far away to guess where they are and how to get back). Braunohler has [...]

The Complete Guide to Everything: Summer Movies 2013 Part 2

This week, we bring you the second part of our annual summer movie roundup and almost make it through the films coming out in June. We cover After Earth (which apparently is some Will Smith movie that is coming out), The Purge, The Internship, Man of Steel and talk about the difference between Robert Downey Jr. and Morton Downey Jr.

Also, we talk about what makes for a good anecdote in Jeopardy's contestant interview segment, the bizarre pervasiveness of burlesque acts in Brooklyn and we solve a listener's problem about choosing a best man for his wedding.

The Complete Guide to Everything: Fancy Restaurants

This week we're talking fancy restaurants, but what conversation about fancy restaurants would be complete without first looking back at Prince's most erotic songs from early in his career? No conversation, that's what. After that we jump right into fancy restaurants starting with our favorite restauranteur, Gordon Ramsay. Not only is he the world's foremost authority on whether food is raw or not, he has a number of restaurants Tom has been to which Tim claims are not fancy despite never having been himself.

Tim and Tom also discuss the number of fancy and not quite fancy restaurants they spent money at at while in Europe out of fear [...]

Talking to Marc Maron About His New IFC show 'Maron' and Having Rising Comics on 'WTF'

“It's based on the life I'm living now, or maybe a couple years ago,” says Marc Maron of his new IFC show, Maron. It's in this slightly alternate universe that Maron exists; his podcast is picking up steam, he's adjusting to life after his second divorce, and he's learning from the famous comedians who stop by his garage to share their wisdom. The show features an excellent collection of his celebrity comedian pals, including the always amazing Dave Foley as an inebriated version of himself in the pilot. I recently got the chance to talk to Maron about playing himself, finding closure, and helping out the next generation of [...]

A Funny Thing: Melanie Hamlett Nearly Seduced by South American Stilt Clown

Our story this week: Melanie Hamlett, yearning for the endless, intoxicating adventure of South America found herself couch surfing into a house full of clowns. Literal clowns. Bipolar, uncicycling clowns. But then came a clown called Blue Angel, and everything changed.

Melanie Hamlett is a comedian, storyteller, world traveler , and two-time MOTH storyslam winner who has written for Marie Claire, Nerve.com, and her  book Leave the Lipstick, Take the IguanaYou can catch her performing in Adventures with [...]

They talk about how he got started in the business, working on Space Ghost and Aqua Teen and making the transition from cartoon to live-action.

Gallagher Said Racist Stuff on a Podcast Again

Fruit-smashin' comedian Gallagher is up to his racist antics again. Gallagher made his second podcast guest appearance that got heated after he said a lot of terrible racist stuff, following a spectacular episode of WTF with Marc Maron in 2011 in which Gallagher walked off mid-interview after Maron called him out on being awful. On the latest episode of Probably Science, which was taped in front of a live audience with guest Peter Serafinowicz and hosts Matt Kirshen and Andy Wood, Gallagher went off the rails.

You can listen to the episode, which host Matt Kirshen now calls his "personal Vietnam," here (the racism starts in [...]

15 of the Best, Most Defining Episodes of 'WTF with Marc Maron'

This week, Marc Maron's show Maron premieres on IFC. The show is based loosely on the comedian's experience creating and hosting his WTF with Marc Maron podcast. Since the podcast's creation in 2009, Maron has interviewed everyone from Carrot Top to Bryan Cranston to Jonathan Winters, and Maron's candid conversational style paired with his signature blend of honesty, insecurity, and resentment has shone a light on the emotional backstories behind respected and despised comedians, actors, and musicians alike.

After nearly 400 episodes, it's hard to identify the absolute best of anything without leaving a ton of great stuff out, but here is a list of some of the most [...]
