Classic 'Superego' Sketches Are Getting Animated Thanks to Nerdist

If you're a fan of animation and the hit improvised podcast Superego, Nerdist is launching a new weekly series that will take classic Superego sketches and give them the animated visual accompaniment they so richly deserve. New sketches will go live on Nerdist every Tuesday (with an initial run of five sketches) and will hopefully be one of many animated collaborations between Superego, Nerdist, and Mahlberg Studios. Marc Maron's IFC show Maron returns for its second season tonight, and the show looks a little different than it did when we last saw it. IFC upped the show's episode order from 10 to 13 for season two, Maron is casting more of his standup peers on the show, and the new season finds the fictionalized version of himself he plays growing slightly more successful as his podcast and career start to take off. On top of that, Maron is now a season more experienced as a writer/actor, and he's adding director to his resume, as well, making his directorial debut with the show's comedy world-centric season [...]

Talking to Paul F. Tompkins About 'Speakeasy', Ice-T, and 'Mr. Show's 20th Anniversary

2014 has been a busy year for Paul F. Tompkins so far. He's starring in an ABC sitcom pilot opposite Molly Shannon and hosting the web chat series Speakeasy, Fusion's political puppet show No, You Shut Up!, the podcast/live show Dead Authors, and his Largo live show Varietopia. I recently caught up with Tompkins on the set of Speakeasy to talk about the plethora of projects he has going, being hoodwinked by an Ice-T impersonator, and Mr. Show's upcoming 20th anniversary.

Nerdist today debuted this new web series, which takes viewers behind the scenes of the podcast/live comedy show The Thrilling Adventure Hour as actors Paul F. Tompkins, Paget Brewster, James Urbaniak, and more prep for the show and explain its origins alongside and creators Ben Acker and Ben Blacker. It's the best behind-the-scenes web series about a podcast/live comedy show in the style of old timey radio you'll see all day.

Norm Macdonald's Video Podcast Returns May 12th

Here's an action-packed promo for Norm Macdonald's video podcast, Norm Macdonald Live, which is returning on Monday, live at 6pm PST on the Video Podcast Network, after nearly a year off the air. The 20-episode second season will kick off with Ray Romano as a guest. Adam Sandler and Bob Saget are also doing the show this season. The show featured guests like Larry King, Billy Bob Thornton, and Russell Brand last year. Macdonald is currently at the center of a Twitter campaign to make him the new host of CBS's The Late Late Show, so we'll see if he addresses that upon his video podcast return.

Todd Glass's Memoir Has a Title and a Release Date

Standup Todd Glass got a book deal after the excellent, acclaimed 2012 episode of WTF with Marc Maron in which he came out of the closet, and that book is finally hitting the shelves this summer.

Called The Todd Glass Situation: A Bunch of Lies about My Personal Life and a Bunch of True Stories about My 30-Year Career in Stand-Up Comedy, the memoir is being released on June 3rd, features blurbs from Glass's buddies Norm Macdonald, Sarah Silverman, and Patton Oswalt, and is available for preorder now.
