The People of South Carolina Want Stephen Colbert to Lead Them

Stephen Colbert announced his intentions to win a recently-vacated Senate seat in his home state of South Carolina on his show last week, and now, a new poll reveals that he's the top choice for South Carolina residents. Public Policy Polling  released the poll, which says 20% of South Carolina voters support Colbert, with the states Congressmen Tim Scott and Trey Gowdy in second and third place with 15% and 14%, respectively. The voters, though, won't be deciding who wins the position. That choice is in the hands of Governor Nikki Haley, but hopefully, this new data will sway her to make the right choice and [...]

'Vanity Fair' Releases Its First Comedy Issue and a Poll that Says 'Seinfeld' Is the Best Sitcom

Vanity Fair's January 2013 installment will be the magazine's first-ever comedy issue, and three different star-studded covers as well as the table of contents for the issue just dropped today. Judd Apatow guest-edited the issue. He's only the third guest editor Vanity Fair has had in the past 20 years, so it's quite an accomplishment on his part. The issue's comedy portfolio features Paul Rudd, Leslie Mann, Melissa McCarthy, Megan Fox, Jim Carrey, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Will Ferrell, Kristen Wiig, Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, Ben Stiller, Conan O’Brien, Lena Dunham, Zach Galifianakis, Steve Martin, Mel Brooks, and Carl Reiner, while Louis C.K. fills out The Proust [...]

There's gotta be one that stands above the rest, right? Well, there's only one way to determine what that show is, and that's a decidedly un-scientific poll.

Now, before we get to it, a couple of notes. First, this is counting shows from the fall and mid-season (January premieres), so summer shows like Louie, Wilfred, Girls, and Veep do not count. Nor do late night shows such as The Daily Show or SNL. It's all prime time comedy from the [...]

Survey Says: Here Are Your Choices For the Best Comedies of the Season

We've been running a poll all this week allowing you to vote on which comedies you thought were the best of the year. And the results are in! And not terribly surprising!

Parks and Rec and Community were the clear favorites, with Happy Endings taking a strong third place. Following them were a number of worthy shows. Some notable tidbits from the results:

-There's not much love for The Office these days; it received a paltry 3 votes. -The quickly cancelled BFFs beat out a number of heavy hitters, including How I Met Your Mother, Portlandia and South Park. -Animated shows ranked in order: Archer, Bob's Burgers, American Dad, [...]
