TBS Orders a Comedy Competition Show from Marlon Wayans

Last Comic Standing is returning to NBC this summer, but it won't be the only comedy competition reality show on the air. TBS has ordered eight episodes of a comedy competition show called Funniest Wins (working title) that will be produced and hosted by Marlon Wayans, according to THR. Each week, a group of amateur comedians, including YouTube stars and standups, will be whittled down to one winner with Wayans and his family and friends judging. Funniest Wins is also expected to launch this summer, and the overall winner of the season will receive a cash prize and a chance to star in a series for Wayans's recently-launched web video site, WhatTheFunny.com.

Standup Taylor Williamson Is In the Finale of 'America's Got Talent' Tonight

Taylor Williamson will be competing in the finals of America's Got Talent tonight on NBC, where he stands to win a million dollar prize. The 26-year-old LA-based standup has performed three sets to make it to the finale of the talent show, where he will compete against singers, a magician, and, apparently, a dancer/mime for the prize.

In the past, comedians have done fairly well on AGT. Two acts made it to the final 10 – season one's comedic/juggling duo Jon & Owen and season four's 79-year-old standup Grandme Lee – while standup Tom Cotter came in second overall last year. And, if you count this sort of thing, ventriloquist Terry Fator won the whole [...]

It’s a profession where women fight for survival of the funniest, and these sassy young comediennes will give viewers a peek inside their lives as they struggle to balance their [...]

Max Silvestri Is Co-Hosting a Comedic Cooking Show for the FYI Network

A+E's lifestyle network Bio is relaunching under the name FYI, and standup Max Silvestri will be one of the revamped channel's new faces. According to THR, Silvestri has joined Top Chef's Gail Simmons and The Taste's Marcus Samuelsson as hosts of FYI's new series called The Feed, a "food comedy road show" that will help inject more humor into the world of food and cooking shows.

"It's time for lifestyle to show that is can have a sense of humor," A+E president Jana Bennett said. "There's a lot of comedy in life, and yet the old-fashioned instructional lifestyles shows didn't leave a lot of room for humor." [...]
