Watch Amazon's Three New Comedy Pilots

Amazon has released its next batch of pilots up for consideration on Amazon Instant Video today, including three comedies from Whit Stillman, Jay Chandrasekhar, and Steven Soderberg. Here's a description of each show:

  • The Cosmopolitans: Written, directed, and produced by Whit Stillman, The Cosmopolitans follows "a group of young American expatriates in Paris searching for love and friendship in a foreign city." The pilot stars Adam Brody, Chloë Sevigny, Carrie MacLemore, Dree Hemingway, Freddy Åsblom, Shaun Evans, and Adriano Giannini.

'The Cosmopolitans,' 'Really,' and 'Red Oaks' to Premiere on Amazon August 28th

Variety reports that Amazon just announced the premiere date for its next batch of pilots up for consideration. Out of the next five series slated to premiere on the streaming network later this month on August 28th are half-hour comedies The Cosmopolitans, Really, and Red Oaks. Here's an overview of what you can expect from each series:

Amazon Adds Comedy Pilot 'Red Oaks' from Steven Soderbergh

Amazon Studios has added another comedy pilot to its lineup for pickup consideration later this year. According to Variety, the online network has added an '80s-set coming-of-age comedy called Red Oaks starring Craig Roberts (Submarine, Neighbors) as a college student who lands a summer job as an assistant tennis pro at a suburban New Jersey country club. Paul Reiser, Richard Kind, Jennifer Grey, and Oliver Cooper also star in the pilot, which is executive produced by Steven Soderbergh, directed by Pineapple Express and Eastbound and Down's David Gordon Green, and written by Gregory Jacobs and Joe Gangemi.
