The Flight of the Conchords Movie Is Getting Realer By the Day

It's not just a "flippant comment" anymore! Rhys Darby, who plays the best band manager slash Deputy Cultural Attaché in the universe, Murray, said on a New Zealand radio show that a Flight of the Conchords movie is "just a matter of finding time. And I think next year pen will hit paper." Hooray! I mean, we all know the actual writing of a script is the easy part. It's practically a formality. The thing is as good as made.

Netflix Will Air 8-Episode Series Created by and Starring Rhys Darby from 'Flight of the Conchords'

THR reports that Netflix will debut a new comedy series called Short Poppies, created by and starring Rhys Darby, who played clueless band manager Murray on Flight of the Conchords.

Short Poppies is a mockumentary about a journalist visiting a small New Zealand town. Darby will play multiple roles, playing the journalist and all of the townsfolk. Netflix will debut the 8-episode series on April 3rd. This is the first time Darby has written and starred in his own project.

Paul Liberstein, better known to Office fans as Toby, has let slip that they're looking at none other than Harvey fucking Keitel to replace Steve Carell when he leaves at the end of this season. He says: "He's probably the only guy who can do it, and he's doing TV now. I haven't started any talks with his people, but Harvey would do a great job—a very different energy. And we don't want to bring in another Michael, having someone play a very similar character because we have such a high regard for Steve."
