Rob Lowe, Elizabeth Banks, and Will Forte Are '80s Chic in the 'Moonbeam City' Trailer

Back in January, Comedy Central announced that they had picked up Moonbeam City, an animated Miami Vice-style parody from Funny or Die and Conan writer Scott Gairdner, and the first trailer is now online. Starring Rob Lowe, Elizabeth Banks, Will Forte, and Kate Mara as a team of undercover cops with wonderfully tacky names, Moonbeam City looks like the perfect show for Lisa Frank fans and gritty cop drama fans alike and is slated to premiere in spring 2015.

Here Are Some Photos from Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe's Last 'Parks and Recreation'

It was announced this summer that cast members Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe are leaving Parks and Recreation at mideason, and that sad episode is finally airing next week on Thursday, January 30th. Entitled "Ann and Chris," the episode finds Leslie throwing a big going away party for Ann and Chris, while Ron and Andy search for the perfect going away gift for Chris. Check out a bunch of pictures from the episode (via E!) below:

Nick Offerman Discusses Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe's 'Parks and Rec' Departures

Last week, it was announced that Parks and Recreation cast members Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe are departing halfway through the upcoming sixth season. Costar Nick Offerman discussed the matter in an interview with Collider today:

"We’re all sad too. I think it’s incredible that we’ve managed to keep this ridiculously talented ensemble together for as long as we have. People like Rashida and Rob and a bunch of the rest of the cast are exploding. They’ve got all kinds of opportunities going on, and so while we’re all sad that those two are moving on, I’m very grateful that we kept them around as long as [...]

8 'Parks and Rec' Side Characters Worthy of Being Bumped Up to the Main Cast

Yesterday, news broke that Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe are leaving NBC's Parks and Recreation halfway through the upcoming sixth season. While we don't know if there are plans to introduce new characters into the main cast this year to take their places, the city of Pawnee is jam-packed with dozens of hilarious side characters who could stand to get more screentime. The Parks writers have done a great job of building Pawnee into a detailed, Springfield-esque world, introducing and re-introducing us to the town's elected officials, media personalities, local businesspeople, and citizens; and one or two of these beloved recurring characters could possibly end up coming into [...]

Stephen Colbert, Rob Lowe, and 'Modern Family' Cast Among 'Good Morning America' Guest Hosts

A few weeks ago Robin Roberts began a leave of absence from Good Morning America in order to focus on her treatment for MDS, a blood and bone marrow disease. Besides the more serious-minded guest hosts – like Barbara Walters and Oprah – ABC will also try to have some funny folks in. Coming up soon are Stephen Colbert and Rob Lowe. Also, they're planning on having a week in which a different member of the Modern Family cast will host each episode. (My DVR is already set for when the French Bulldog hosts.) The comedian (or dog) guests won't have to concern themselves with much news, instead [...]

Rob Riggle to Star Opposite Rob Lowe in 'The Pro' NBC Pilot

Rob Lowe's NBC tennis comedy pilot The Pro is beginning to round out its cast. THR reports that Rob Riggle has signed on to star opposite Lowe as Bobby Welch, the former doubles champion opposite Ben Bertram (Lowe) who reunites with his partner "after a public feud that left them both floundering in life." More info on Riggle's character:

Riggle's Bobby comes to the tennis and golf shop as the new head pro — much to Ben's chagrin. Following their split, Bobby went on to have an illustrious career and brags about his lifestyle. However, now he's dirt poor and living in a youth hostel and the [...]

Rob Lowe Says He Plans to Return to 'Parks and Rec' as a Guest Star

Rob Lowe stopped by The Late Show with David Letterman last night, and Letterman couldn't wait to ask him about his decision to leave Parks and Recreation, so Lowe assured him that he expects to return as a guest star in the future. Letterman's admiration for Amy Poehler and her show are well-documented, so it's no huge surprise when he defends her honor against Lowe's terrible accusations.

Vine 5 Film Festival: …But There is Lemonade

Vine is a toy from Twitter that challenges users to make the most profound work ever committed to video in exactly six seconds. Or at the very least, challenges comedians to bring a little more laughter into this world. Every Tuesday we showcase five of the funniest short shorts of the past week.

Your RSS feed might be difficult and not show the videos, but trust us – they are there.

Ryan McHenry, one of the Vine app's biggest stars thanks to his creation of the very popular "Ryan Gosling Wont Eat His Cereal" series, was diagnosed with cancer recently. A lot of viners checked in to [...]

Read 'Parks and Rec' Boss Mike Schur's Statement About Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe's Departures

There was a surprise announcement yesterday that Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe are leaving NBC's Parks and Recreation in the middle of the show's upcoming sixth season. While there's still no explanation for their departures, Parks showrunner/co-creator Mike Schur issued the following statement about the situation last night without really giving a reason for the change. As far as what their next moves are, Deadline reports that NBC is developing a new show for Lowe, and Jones and her writing partner signed a development deal with Warner Bros. in February to write and produce new shows.

Here's Mike Schur's statement:

"The news about Rob and Rashida is [...]

Rob Lowe Explains Why Chris Traeger Is Literally the Best at Saying "Literally"

Vulture visited the set of Parks & Recreation and was able to corner Rob Lowe and ask him about his character's unlikely catchphrase:

“I think I just leaned into that word really hard a couple of times and it made [Mike Schur] laugh. The next thing you know it just became one of Chris’s things, but it was never designed that way. It was merely a word in a sentence. I think I just took a really big, probably very embarrassing swing at it and it stuck.”

He continued:

“It’s funny, I have no idea what I’m doing when I’m doing it … But it’s very exciting to [...]

NBC Orders Tennis Comedy Pilot from Rob Lowe

Not to be outdone by Rashida Jones's recent pilot order and casting in Steve Carell's TBS show, Parks and Rec's Rob Lowe has also gotten a pilot picked up by NBC. According to Deadline, Lowe is starring and executive producing the single-camera pilot called The Pro, which centers on "former tennis doubles champion 'Big Ben' Bertrahm, whose career flame-out and misguided investments have left him working as the pro at a tennis and gold club, where he tries to hustle and charm his way back into America's 1%." The pilot previously had a production commitment with the network with Larry Sanders Show/King of the Hill [...]

NBC Buys a Workplace Comedy Starring Rob Lowe

Rob Lowe is leaving Parks and Rec at midseason, but he may not be leaving NBC primetime. The network just bought a new workplace comedy called The Pro, starring Lowe, Deadline reports. NBC has given a production commitment to the project, but time will tell whether they decide to move forward with the potential series after making the pilot. Written by Peter Huyck and Alex Gregory (King of the Hill, A Good Old Fashioned Orgy), The Pro is described as a show centered on "former tennis doubles champion 'Big Ben' Bertrahm (Lowe), whose career flame-out and misguided investments have left him working as the pro at a tennis and golf club, [...]

'Parks and Rec' Boss Mike Schur Says Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe Leaving Was a Creative Decision

On Wednesday, there was a surprising announcement that Parks and Recreation's Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe are both leaving the show halfway through the upcoming sixth season. Parks co-creator/showrunner Mike Schur released a statement that night that didn't really reveal much, but while speaking to reporters at the TCA press tour yesterday afternoon, he revealed that it was a creative decision not a financial one. He said:

"Every network comes to you and says, ‘Cut costs,’ all the time. A reality of the network television game is they’ll always tell you to do impossible things with less and less money. But it wasn’t like, ‘Uh oh, we’ve got [...]

Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe Are Leaving 'Parks and Rec' in the Middle of the New Season

Parks and Recreation stars Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe are both leaving the show following the upcoming sixth season's 13th episode, Buzzfeed reports. No reason is cited for the two actors' abrupt departure, but both actors both have busy schedules full of other projects outside of the NBC series. Season five of the show ended with Jones and Lowe's respective characters Ann Perkins and Chris Traeger continuing to try to have a baby together, so we'll see if that plotline has something to do with their characters' exits. Parks and Rec's sixth season is set to premiere Thursday, September 26th, with an hour-long episode set in London featuring [...]
