Aasif Mandvi Didn't Want His Picture Taken with Sarah Palin

Longtime Daily Show correspondent Aasif Mandvi attended the White House Correspondents' Dinner this weekend and turned down the once-in-a-lifetie opportunity to get his picture taken with Sarah Palin. Mandvi tells Vulture:

Somebody asked me if I would like to get my picture taken with Sarah Palin. She was standing a few feet away. She couldn't hear me, but [this guy] was like, "Do you want to get your picture taken with Sarah?" And I was like, "You know, I don't. I really don't."

Sheesh, what's this guy got against Sarah Palin?

Based on Louis C.K.'s GQ interview for their August comedy issue, it's clear he really, truly regrets making those awful/hilarious Sarah Palin tweets last September, specifically the statement "kudos to your dirty hole, you fucking jackoff cunt-face jazzy wondergirl," while drunk on a flight to L.A. "God, what a mess. I really shouldn't have done that. I regret it a lot. I wish I hadn't done that," Louis says now, explaining "I'm not a political comedian. That's just not what I do."

Here's Tina Fey on Inside the Actor's Studio earlier this week, with James Lipton interviewing her as Sarah Palin. This is the first time Fey has done the impression since guest starring on an SNL episode two years ago, but it's really a testament to her incredible improv abilities that she can just slip back into it and give such incredibly funny responses to Lipton's questions. I could watch James Lipton talk to Tina Fey's Sarah Palin for the entire hour.

Luckily comedian Eric Golub stepped up to the plate at Sarah Palin's "Restoring America" rally in Indianola, Iowa this weekend, where he opened for the former governor, bringing some choice zingers referencing Sarah Palin's son Trig.
