Austin's SXSW Festival just announced its big comedy lineup for this year, which runs from March 14th through the 21st and is set to feature a ton of funny people including Amy Schumer, Wyatt Cenac, Scott Aukerman, Judd Apatow, Brooks Wheelan, Eric Andre, James Adomian, Nick Kroll, Vanessa Bayer, Dan Harmon, and plenty more. SXSW Announces Its Comedy Lineup (Maron, Armisen, Aukerman, Silverman, and More)

Austin-based film/music/comedy festival South by Southwest (or SXSW as the cool kids call it) just announced its comedy lineup, running from 3/9 to 3/16, and it's jam-packed with most of the funniest people going. There are live shows from Comedy Bang Bang, the UCB, Burning Love, The Chris Gethard Show, James Adomian, The Creek and the Cave, and a screening of Marc Maron's upcoming IFC show Maron, plus appearances from Sarah Silverman, Michael Cera, Fred Armisen, Tim & Eric, and a ton more comedians and live tapings of most of the big podcasts. SXSW Announces Comedy Lineup: Bill Cosby, Good Neighbor, and More

Austin-based giant arts festival South by Southwest (SXSW) just announced the comedy portion of its 2014 lineup. Here's a rundown of what the festival will feature:

  • An evening with Bill Cosby, presented by Funny Or Die
  • Above Average, Lorne Michaels's company Broadway Video's YouTube channel, holding a showcase of past and present SNL performers that features performances by Fred Armisen, Good Neighbor (Kyle Mooney, Beck Bennett, Nick Rutherford, and Dave McCary), standup from Sasheer Zamata, Chris Gethard, and host Tim Robinson
  • A live installment of The Chris Gethard Show
  • James Adomian's character show Conspiracy Theory Live with Jesse Ventura
  • Showcases from local standup juggernauts The Meltdown with [...]

South by Southwest's Statement About the Lack of Women in Their Comedy Lineup

South by Southwest has responded to the hubbub about their comedy offerings at this year's festival consisting of 30 dudes and 1 lady. Here's their statement in full: If you follow SXSW, you may know that our initial announcements are rarely complete, and this year is no exception. While we're proud of the roster of great comedians set to join us in Austin next month, we were disappointed by the fact that we could only include one woman in our initial release.

We've been working on finalizing arrangements with other well-known female comics for quite some time and we hope to announce more soon.

'Jimmy Kimmel Live' Is Doing a Week of Shows in Austin for SXSW

Jimmy Kimmel is getting ready to host another week of his late night talk show from Austin, Texas. From March 10th to March 14th, Jimmy Kimmel Live will be broadcasting new episodes in conjunction with the annual music and film festival South by Southwest.

South by Southwest is set to begin announcing the lineup for the comedy portion of the festival next week, with shows, live podcasts, and panels planned. This is Jimmy Kimmel Live's first week-long residency in Austin. The show did a week of episodes from Brooklyn in the fall of 2012 and a week in Detroit in 2006 leading up to the Super Bowl.

South by Southwest Announces an Almost Exclusively Male Comedy Lineup

Austin's yearly hipster/nerd conference South by Southwest just announced the lineup for it's comedy offerings, and there are lots and lots of amazing, talented, hilarious people performing. It's going to be great! There's an almost overwhelming about of top-notch comedic talent all in one place. But here's the problem: of the 31 comics they booked, 30 of them are men. Hm.
