Louis C.K. Is Releasing Todd Barry's New Special on His Website in March

Todd Barry has a new standup special, and he's teamed up with Louis C.K. to make it available online. During his Daily Show interview last night, C.K. announced that the special, titled Todd Barry: The Crowd Work Tour, will be available on his website in March. The special follows Barry's 2013 tour in which he did hourlong shows only relying on crowd work, which we spoke with Barry about back in May. The Crowd Work Tour makes the second standup special C.K. has released for another comedian (following Tig Notaro's Live) and the first he's both financed and produced — hopefully the first of many.

This Sunday, May 20th, is going to be big for Hannibal Buress. At 11:00pm, his hour special, Hannibal Buress: Animal Furnace, premieres on Comedy Central and then 30 minutes after it finishes, at 12:30am, The Eric Andre Show, for which he is the co-host, premieres on Adult Swim. After years of being the most buzzed about comedian by everyone from Chris Rock to Eugene Mirman to many powerful people in show business to any fan of comedy, the buzz is finally going to reach an unavoidable volume. I don't know Hannibal personally but my first reaction is pride.

That's because with one off-hand joke, Hannibal changed my life. I [...]

The DVD special features include extra material cut from the show as well as a highlight reel from Mirman’s Comedy Central pilot Eugene! in which Mirman ran a fake television network — “like Oprah, but also, not like Oprah.”
