Watch Conan's Incredibly Violent Scene from 'Sharktopus vs. Pteracuda'

While Conan recently announced that he'd be "starring" in the upcoming Syfy movie Sharktopus VS. Pteracuda, it looks like this ridiculous and insanely violent scene is the only one he's actually in. Which is probably for the best — I'm not sure anyone could take a full 90 minutes of that character. I'm sure all of the other characters are more fleshed out and well rounded. We'll find out when it airs on Syfy at 9pm on August 2nd.

Trade Roundup: Jack Black, Jim Henson

Syfy's getting into comedy with its purchase of Ghost Ghirls, a paranormal parody that's executive produced by Jack Black. Lady improvisoirs (that is a word now, because I just said it) Amanda Lund and Maria Blasucci will "attempt to solve paranormal mysteries each week while trying to prove to themselves and their customers that they are competent ghost hunters." Pretty sure "competent ghost hunters" is an oxymoron of some kind. Anyway, this sounds funny.

Conan O'Brien Will Star in Syfy Drama 'Sharktopus Vs. Pteracuda' Next Month

Here's a Conan web exclusive in which O'Brien makes an exciting announcement: On Saturday, August 2nd at 9pm, Syfy will be premiering a dramatic film starring Conan and produced by Roger Corman called Sharktopus Vs. Syfy Gives 12-Episode Order to a Weekly Comedy Show Starring Wil Wheaton

Today, Wil Wheaton posted a lengthy blog update about a secret television project he's been working on for a while that has attained a happy ending. According to the post, Syfy has picked up 12 episodes of The Wil Wheaton Project, a weekly half-hour topical comedy show hosted by Wheaton that "will offer a funny, fast-paced exploration and celebration of science fiction and genre entertainment." Each episode, Wheaton will explore the hot sci-fi, television, and pop culture topics of the week, and the series is set to premiere on Tuesday, May 27th at 10:00pm.
