It's been almost a year since HBO ordered The Brink to series, but now the network has finally revealed when the Jack Black/Tim Robbins-starring show will debut its 10-episode season: sometime this summer. The show also stars Pablo Schreiber with series regulars Aasif Mandvi, Maribeth Monroe, Eric Ladin, Esai Morales, and Geoff Pierson. HBO Orders Jack Black/Tim Robbins Comedy Pilot to Series

HBO has given a series order to The Brink, a dark comedy that stars Jack Black and Tim Robbins, Deadline reports. Weeds writer Roberto Benabib and brother Kim created the show, and Jay Roach (Meet the ParentsAustin Powers), directed the pilot, which was ordered in the fall. The Brink follows three characters involved in a geopolitical crisis: the Secretary of State (Robbins), a low-level military officer (Black), and a navy fighter pilot (Pablo Schreiber, Orange is the New Black). Aasif Mandvi, Maribeth Monroe, Geoff Pierson, Esai Morales, and Eric Ladin play supporting roles in the show, which HBO quickly ordered to series after receiving and watching the pilot yesterday.
