Review Roundup: Critics Like 'Hangover III' Less than the First Two

The third and – as the posters promise – final installment in the The Hangover franchise was released to theaters today, and the reviews have been pretty harsh. As of this writing, the movie has a 25% rating on RottenTomatoes and a 32/100 on Metacritic, making it the worst-reviewed Hangover movie yet (the previous one earned a 34% and 44/100) and the worst-reviewed movie from director Todd Phillips yet.

The Hangover III doesn't copy the "What the hell did we do last night?" plotline from the original like Hangover II does, which is something critics have been complimenting the movie for while not enjoying the direction the story goes [...]

Melissa McCarthy to Be Hungover 3

You know that thing that happens when a comic actor starts getting some mojo, so they're thrown into every movie possible? McCarths is in that phase. She has been cast for an unspecified role in Hangover III. The script probably just read, "Woman, 30s" and they'll just have Melissa fill out the role with her McCarthyism. Maybe, she and Zach's character will go on a date and split a bottle of ranch dressing.

You'll See More of Ken Jeong in 'Hangover III'

It appears that Ken Jeong will have a larger role in Hangover III than he had in the previous two installments. This either suggests that they're trying to do something different with the third movie or their trying to wring every last laugh out a very extreme, fairly limited character. Nonetheless, this is great news from Ken Jeong and fan's of Ken Jeong's penis.

Get Ready For The Hangover III: Mass Death and Total Devastation

Oh, it's happening. The third Hangover movie will start filming this September. Details about the script (by Todd Phillips and Craig Mazin, who wrote part II together) are scarce, but apparently it takes place in LA and won't follow the same morning-after template as the first two movies. In other words, it's still possible that Mazin will follow his instinct that the movie "ends with Doug staring at a row of crosses in a graveyard." Fingers crossed?

Watch the Trailer for 'The Hangover Part III' Which Promises to Be the Final 'Hangover' Movie

Here's the trailer for the third and final Hangover movie, which hits theaters May 24th. Up until now the plot has been kept under wraps, but the trailer reveals that it's about Ed Helms and Bradley Cooper's characters taking Zach Galifianakis's character to a mental health center after the loss of his father, only to be stopped by a criminal (John Goodman) who's looking for Leslie Chow (Ken Jeong). Oh, and Melissa McCarthy has a cameo, which is probably like 30 seconds longer than her bit in the trailer.

John Goodman in Talks to Play 'Hangover III's' Villian

The lovely, awesome John Goodman is being eyed to play the bad guy in the final Hangover movie. (More like John not so Goodman. Get it? Because he won't be G– I'll just stop now.) Goodman is a natural bad guy, as was the case in this past season of Community, because of how physically imposing he is and the undeniable gravitas of his voice. If Goodman can't do it, Sean Penn and Robert Downey Jr. are director Todd Phillips' back-up choices. And this marks the first time where John Goodman, Sean Penn, and Robert Downey Jr. were fighting for the same role. Well, other than when they all [...]

The Hangover Part III Is Coming Next May 24th

It's official: Warner Bros. has announced a release date for The Hangover Part III, and it's May 24th, 2013. Mark your calendars, people who plan to see movies way too far in advance!

Zach Galifianakis Reveals the Plot of The Hangover Part III to Rolling Stone

It looks like the Hangover Part III plot really will be a divergence from the first two films, which is good, seeing as how it runs the risk of turning to a particularly filthy game of Mad Libs. According to Zach Galifianakis' Rolling Stone interview, Alan will not be getting married to the transgender stripper from The Hangover Part II (my immediate assumption/prayer), but rather "according what he's heard, the plot ditches the format of the first two and focuses on his character escaping from a mental institution with help from the wolf pack." Alan wouldn't happen to be escaping the Mike Tyson Home for The [...]

Here's the Trailer for 'The Hangover III'

This is the brand-new teaser trailer for The Hangover Part III, which stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Ken Jeong, Justin Bartha, Heather Graham, John Goodman, and Melissa McCarthy. The movie comes out May 24th and will feature the best giraffe-induced car accident in movie history (so far).

Hit the jump for the poster, which really puts British teen wizards in their place:

Heather Graham to Return for 'The Hangover III'

I guess something might actually happen in the third and final Hangover film. After missing the last installment, Heather Graham is set to come back to play Jade, the stripper with a baby and a heart of a nice stripper. This implies that the movie might feature gross stuff like emotions and caring. Or maybe it just means there'll be lots of strippers. Director Todd Phillips has stated that he intends on bringing a lot of people back for the last Hangover. He's said: “It will be a fitting conclusion to our three-part opera of mayhem, despair and bad decisions.” Fitting conclusion? The only fitting conclusion would be [...]

The Hangover Stars Are Getting 15 Million Actual Dollars Each for The Hangover 3

Holy butts. Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis are close to closing a deal to star in The Hangover 3, and they're asking for $15 million each. Fifteen million dollars each! That's more than double the amount each of them made from Hangovers 1 and 2 put together. (At least there probably won't be a Hangover 4, because 15 mil can surely buy all their characters private counseling for their alcohol dependencies.) The latest plot update is that the story may "involve Alan escaping from a mental hospital." And then killing everyone inside and his friends, right? The Hangover 3: Goodbye, Empty and Indifferent Universe.

The Hangover Part III Is a Go

It's not too surprising, seeing as The Hangover Part II became the fastest-grossing live-action comedy ever over the weekend, but the wheels have begun turning for the inevitable third Hangover movie already. Screenwriter Craig Mazin, who co-wrote Part II with Scot Armstrong and Todd Philips, is signed on to write so far, although I'm sure he won't be alone.

OK, so Philips has said that he plans to have the third movie be a big departure from the plots of the first two, which were nearly identical. Any guesses as to what will happen? Maybe Alan will get engaged to a stuffed animal and the boys head [...]
