If the two Buddy Cole Colbert Report segments weren't enough Scott Thompson goodness for you this week, here's a new short he wrote and stars in called The Immigrant about a Canadian comedian named Bob London who gets deported then tries to smuggle himself back to Hollywood via the US/Mexico border. Dave Foley plays Thompson's former cult comedy show cast mate Tim Terry, and Michael Cera, Margaret Cho, and Will Forte play themselves in the short, which includes plenty of heavy-handed references to Thompson's glory days on The Kids in the Hall. Thompson also made two other shorts 4 Pounds and 52, which you can watch below:

The Kids in the Hall Are Reuniting for a Run of Live Shows in Canada

Legendary sketch group The Kids in the Hall are getting back together for their first live shows in five years. The group's five members, Dave Foley, Kevin McDonald, Bruce McCulloch, Mark McKinney, and Scott Thompson, are reuniting for a series of shows at Toronto Sketchfest from December 4th through December 7th and tickets are still available. Their new sketch show is called "Rusty and Ready," and it's described as "an intimate and raucous Toronto homecoming.  Featuring new material and an assortment of oddities from their deep, dark trunk." Between that and David Cross and Bob Odenkirk's current Mr. Show reunion mini-tour, it's a great year to see performers/writers [...]

The Kids in the Hall Are Doing a Live Reading of 'Brain Candy'

Sketch group The Kids in the Hall is reuniting for a live staged reading of the script for their 1996 cult movie Brain Candy. On Tuesday, March 11th, the group will take the stage at Toronto Sketchfest (tickets here), complete with accompaniment with Brain Candy's original composer Craig Northey from the band The Odds, and Chris Murphy and Gregory MacDonald of Sloan. All five members of Kids in the Hall will be present, and they will also be screening the movie's original ending.

Although it's gone on to be a cult hit, Brain Candy was a box office bomb and failed to impress critics when it was released in 1996, [...]
