To introduce the press conference ahead of Monty Python's live farewell shows in London starting this week, Mick Jagger — who has made fun of himself plenty of times in the past — starred in the above clip alongside a lazing Charlie Watts, in which Jagger trashes the comedy group for being a bunch of old men who were hip back in the '60s and '70s but are now irrelevant and overplayed.

Monty Python Adds One More Night to Their Live London Show, Calls It Their "Last Live Performance Together"

The Monty Python era is nearing its end. Not even a week after releasing the music video for their new song "The Silly Walks Song," UK's Chortle reports that the legendary British comedy group has added one more night to their live reunion shows at London's O2 Arena and are saying it will "probably be their last live performance together." According to a spokesman, the Pythons were hoping to extend their London performances into a worldwide tour, "but individual commitments to other projects over the next three years has made this impossible." 'The Last Night of the Pythons' to Air Live in US Theaters Next Month

Monty Python's American fans now have less reason to feel left out of their live London reunion shows next month. AP reports that there are now plans to screen the legendary British comedy group's final July reunion show in hundreds of theaters across the US including branches of AMC, Regal, Showcase, and Cinemark chains. Some of the theaters will screen the performance live on July 20th with additional screenings on July 23rd, 24th, and August 6th. According to Python member Eric Idle "fans will get plenty of old favorites, as well as some surprises 'that will completely freak people out.'"

Terry Gilliam Calls Monty Python's Upcoming Farewell Shows "Depressing"

"It’s harder to do comedy now anyway: we’re older, we’ve become the Establishment we took the piss out of… Actually, the truth is I find it depressing that we’re getting back together again. It’s like, we worked so hard to get careers beyond it, to get to this stage, and now we’re being dragged back again."
