CBS Renews 'Two and a Half Men', 'The Millers', 'Mom', '2 Broke Girls', and 'Mike & Molly'

CBS today announced the early renewal of 18 shows, including five comedies, for the 2014-2015 season. The five renewed comedies are veteran series Two and a Half Men, 2 Broke Girls, and Mike & Molly and new shows The Millers, starring Will Arnett, and Mom, starring Anna Faris. The Big Bang Theory received a massive three-season renewal from the network yesterday, so producer Chuck Lorre still has four sitcoms on the network.

This leaves the Robin Williams-Sarah Michelle Gellar series The Crazy Ones and the upcoming midseason sitcoms Friends with Better Lives and Bad Teacher as the only comedies CBS has yet to renew. How I Met Your Mother [...]

Will Arnett visited Jimmy Kimmel Live last night to plug his new sitcom The Millers and reveled in his Canadian-ness with a story about flying with Wayne Gretzky on a recent trip up north. CBS Orders Comedy Series Starring Robin Williams, Will Arnett, and Anna Faris

CBS today announced that they've picked up four new comedy series for the fall. Here's the rundown on the new shows:

Mom comes from co-creator Chuck Lorre and stars Anna Faris as a newly-sober single mother working as a waitress in Napa Valley. The Millers comes from My Name Is Earl creator Greg Garcia and stars Will Arnett as a newly-divorced guy whose parents move in with him. Crazy Ones is a father-daughter workplace comedy created by David E. Kelley that stars Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Gellar. CBS Orders Full Seasons of 'The Millers', 'The Crazy Ones' and 'Mom'

CBS sure knows how to make sitcoms that a lot of people watch, and they're sticking with what works. This afternoon, CBS announced nine more episodes for freshman sitcoms The Crazy Ones, The Millers, and Mom, bringing each to 22 episodes. The Millers has been doing very well in this ratings so far, and this week was the second most-watched comedy on network TV after long-running megahit The Big Bang Theory. The Crazy Ones premiered crazy strong, and while it hasn't retained all those viewers, it's still doing quite well. CBS Is Winning In the Thursday Comedy Ratings

CBS is dominating the Thursday night comedy ratings, with Robin William's freshman sitcom The Crazy Ones once again doing very well, pulling in 11.8 million viewers and easily beating the premier of Sean Hayes new NBC sitcom, Sean Saves the World, which only managed 4.9 million viewers. The Big Bang Theory is still doing quite well for CBS, getting 17.8 million viewers, while Will Arnett's new CBS show The Millers got 13.2 million. Over on NBC, the second episode of The Michael J. Fox Show garnered 5.9 million viewers, while Parks and Recreation and Welcome to the Family brought in 3.5 million and 3.3 million viewers, respectively.

CBS Unveils Its Fall Schedule, Now Has a Two-Hour Comedy Block on Thursdays

CBS became the last of the Big Four TV networks to announce its Fall 2013 lineup this morning. The biggest development comedy-wise is that they're expanding their Thursday night comedy block to two hour now, giving NBC a run for its money by competing head-on with the Peacock Network's long-running but anemic comedy night.
