Watch an Extended, 6-Minute Trailer for Ben Stiller's 'Secret Life of Walter Mitty'

Despite some early Oscar talk and some visually compelling trailers, Ben Stiller's new movie Secret Life of Walter Mitty has been receiving mixed/negative reviews so far. Nevertheless, here's an extra-long, six-minute trailer for the movie, which looks a visually neato as the rest of the trailers we've seen for it.

Ben Stiller's 'Secret Life of Walter Mitty' Has Oscar Buzz

Ben Stiller unveiled 12 minutes from his new movie, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, at CinemaCon last week, and Deadline reports that it wowed the audience and is generating early Oscar buzz, whatever that means. Based on the 1947 Danny Kaye movie comedy, which itself was based on 1939 James Thurber story, Stiller's version is a comedy-drama that turns Walter Mitty into a photo editor who lives vicariously through others via his wild imagination. Stiller directed, produced, and starred in the movie, which comes out this Christmas and also features Kristen Wiig, Sean Penn, Adam Scott, Patton Oswalt, Kathryn Hahn, and Shirley MacLaine. Before Stiller signed on, [...]

Kristen Wiig Will Probably Star in The Secret Life of Walter Mitty

Looks like Kristen Wiig is going to star in Ben Stiller's remake of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, based on the short-story and worldwide required 8th grade English class reading assignment by James Thurber. Wiig would play "the co-worker about whom Mitty, a henpecked photo manager at a magazine, fantasizes as he dreams his way out of a humdrum life." The larger-than-life fantasy sequences in that story will probably be a good way to showcase Wiig's broader comedic talents. Also I bet there will be fun outfits.

Watch a New Trailer for Ben Stiller's 'Secret Life of Walter Mitty'

Here's a new trailer for The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, which comes out this Christmas from director (and star) Ben Stiller. Like the first trailer, it makes the movie look much more beautiful and cinematic than any comedy in recent memory.

Kristen Wiig and Ben Stiller Make Damn Adorable Old Folks

Man, celebrities look way different without makeup on. Just kidding, this  is the opposite of no makeup, it's tons of makeup. This and the photos below are from the set of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, which is a remake of a 1947 film that was based on a 1939 New Yorker short story. Both the story and the film focus on the daydreams of the mild-mannered Mitty. Considering that I often dream of Kristen Wiig and Ben Stiller wearing old people makeup and walking in the snow, I'd say this movie is going to be super realistic.

An Exhaustive Guide to Who's Remaking Your Favorite Comedies

The past few years have seen an uptick in the number of big-screen remakes of Hollywood classics and non-classics, with the bulk of these films revisiting beloved properties from the 1980s. Remakes and reboots of Karate Kid, Clash of the Titans, and Nightmare on Elm Street, amongst others, were released last year, with Footloose and Red Dawn due out in the coming months. This past weekend’s new release Arthur was the first comedy to come out of this recent slew of rehashes, an effort to update the hit 1981 Dudley Moore film by replacing Moore with fellow Brit Russell Brand. Arthur's underperformance at the box office this weekend [...]

Watch the Amazing Trailer for Ben Stiller's 'Secret Life of Walter Mitty'

Here's the trailer for The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Directed by and starring Ben Stiller, the movie is based on the classic James Thurber story about a man who disappears into his own vivid daydreams. Kristen Wiig, Sean Penn, Adam Scott, Shirley MacLaine, and Patton Oswalt round out the cast. Walter Mitty comes out this Christmas and looks pretty incredible going off of this trailer, which is one of the best I've seen in a while.

Trade Roundup: Patton Oswalt, Melissa McCarthy, Parks & Recreation

Patton Oswalt may star with Ben Stiller and Kristen Wiig in The Secret Life of Walter Mitty as "Todd, a friendly eHarmony counselor." This is the role he was born to play, ladies and gentlemen.

CBS has picked up Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone's 37-year-old-living-at-home sitcom, just a few weeks after ordering the script. They must've thrown a lotta good "grown man walking in on his parents having sex" jokes in there!

Parks & Recreation will be the host of a West Wing reunion later this season, when Bradley Whitford guest stars as the departing councilman whose seat Leslie wants. Tragically, he'll have no actual [...]
