Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Kate McKinnon, and More Join IFC's 'The Spoils Before Dying'

IFC's upcoming six-part miniseries spoof The Spoils Before Dying just rounded out its cast. The network announced today that in addition to Michael Kenneth Williams and Will Ferrell, the jazz murder mystery series will include an impressive cast made up of both returning cast members from The Spoils of Babylon and some new faces. Michael Kenneth Williams to Star in IFC's 'The Spoils Before Dying'

Will Ferrell is returning to IFC as legendary author Eric Jonrosh for another Funny or Die-produced mini-series spoof, and today the network revealed that Michael Kenneth Williams (The Wire, Boardwalk Empire) has signed on to star. Following last year's The Spoils of Babylon, the next installment called The Spoils Before Dying is described as a "pulp-noir murder mystery" set in the LA jazz scene that centers on Williams as a "down-and-out pianist Rock Banyon who becomes the prime suspect when his lead singer and occasional lover is found violently murdered in a car with another man. IFC Orders a 'Spoils of Babylon' Sequel Called 'The Spoils Before Dying'

IFC announced in a press release today that they've ordered a sequel to Matt Piedmont and Andrew Steele's Funny or Die epic miniseries parody The Spoils of Babylon. Titled The Spoils Before Dying, the six-episode series is set to premiere in summer 2015 and will follow author/director/writer Eric Jonrosh (played by Will Ferrell)'s first best-selling novel that "will take viewers into the seedy underbelly of the 1950s jazz scene, in a detective story positively buzzing with erotic charge.
