Jerry Seinfeld Singing the Theme Song to 'Comedians in Cars' Is Somehow Worse Than That Sounds on Paper

The season premiere of Jerry Seinfeld's web series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee dropped today with comedian Sarah Jessica Parker as the guest, and the episode starts with a hokey new theme song to the show, sung by (and apparently written by) none other than Jerry Seinfeld. In what seems to be a homage to '60s sitcom themes, the song is jam-packed with cheesy lyrics ("Sometimes on stage, I won't come off-y, unless I'm getting in a car with coffee!") that are arguably more ridiculous than the fact that Jerry Seinfeld is singing in public.

Jimmy Fallon and the Cast of 'Guys with Kids' Sing Sitcom Theme Songs to Promote Their New Sitcom (and Theme Song)

The medley will just make you want to hear them cover full versions of the songs.

Zooey Deschanel Pens New Girl Theme

In addition to starring in/ influencing international hair trends via her upcoming sitcom New Girl, Zooey Deschanel has written and recorded the show's theme music, as something of an homage to her character's tendency to burst into song. No details about what the song might sound like, but I'm assuming it will make all of us wish we were making out astride a penny farthing.

'South Park' Improved the 'Game of Thrones' Theme Song

From last night's Game of Thrones-centric episode of South Park, here's the updated a cappella version of Games of Thrones' theme song, which contains some spoilers from the books and also the word "wiener" a bunch of times.

A Who's Who of Sitcom Theme Song Composers

Whatever happened to predictability? The milkman, the paperboy, evening TV…and the following Theme Song Composers? (I'm only choosing people who are still alive, because, well, the “Where Are They Now?” wouldn’t be much fun if the person’s dead.) Here's a rundown of the people who wrote and recorded the songs that kicked off everything from Full House to Seinfeld to Clarissa Explains It All.
