Mitch Hurwitz, Tim & Eric to Guest Star on 'Community'

The upcoming season of Community is already set to have plenty of cast changes, and now the show has announced even more big name stars will be seen in the fifth season. Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz, as well as Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim, will guest star on the new season, which debuts in January. According to The Wrap, Hurwitz's character, Preston Koogler, is "Greendale’s ultimate party animal. Women want him, and guys want to be him. But, woe to the administrator who tries to stand between Koogler and good times." Hurwitz's casting by returning show runner Dan Harmon is particularly appropriate, as Harmon had a small cameo [...]

Tim Heidecker's soft rock band with composer Davin Wood, Heidekcer & Wood, is set to release their second album, Some Things Never Stay the Same, in November, and here's the first track. It's a cheesy '70s rock song called "What Else Is New?" that's definitely toeing the line between comedy and music at times.

Here's a description of Heidecker & Wood's new album from a press release:

Let's lay it all out on the table: this is the self-indulgent sophomore album. The horns, the female back-up singers, the songs about life on the road and redemption for indiscretions that remain vague to protect the innocent, but mostly the [...]

Here's a bit from the press release:

Let's lay it all out on the table: this is the self-indulgent sophomore album. The horns, the female back-up singers, the songs about life on the road and redemption for indiscretions that remain vague to [...]

Talking to Tim Heidecker About 'Tim & Eric's Bedtime Stories' and Future Projects

It's been three years since comedy duo Tim & Eric's last TV show, Tim and Eric's Awesome Show Great Job!, ended its run, but they're back tomorrow night with the pilot for their new Adult Swim series, Tim & Eric's Bedtime Stories. It's a Twilight Zone-esque anthology series, with the first episode involving Tim, Eric, and guest star Zach Galifianakis living in a haunted house to receive their grandfather's inheritance.

Bedtime Stories is just one of many projects Tim Heidecker has in the works. He's also releasing a soft-rock album with his band Heidecker & Wood, playing a recurring role on the current season of Eastbound & Down, [...]

This definitely is not a move to promote their new Adult Swim show, Tim & Eric's Bedtime Stories, no matter how many times they mention the show.

Ken Marino and Tim Heidecker Join the Cast of the Final Season of 'Eastbound and Down'

Ken Marino has signed on to the fourth and final season of Eastbound and Down to play "Guy Young, a middle-aged athlete who's still living the high life and partying it up every weekend." Deadline reports that it's a pretty big role; he'll be appearing in every episode of the season. Tim Heidecker's also on board, set to play the recurring character Gene, who's "a vanilla guy in Kenny’s neighborhood. He has nothing in common with Kenny and lacks even a basic sense of humor." So Ken Marino as a party animal and Tim Heidecker as a deadpan weirdo? Sounds about right.
