HBO Renews Duplass Brothers Comedy 'Togetherness' for a Second Season

The Duplass brothers' new HBO show Togetherness just landed a season 2 renewal. THR reports that the pay network has ordered a second season of the comedy-drama to premiere sometime next year. "We began our love affair with HBO in our parents’ living room in 1983," the brothers said in a statement, "and to have these brilliant, creative people put a ring on our fingers with a second season of Togetherness is a real-life dream come true." The new season will film in Los Angeles later this year, which will keep the Duplass guys super busy considering four-movie movie deal with Netflix they signed last week.

HBO Orders a Pilot from the Duplass Brothers

Mark and Jay Duplass just sold a pilot for a single-camera comedy to HBO called Togetherness, Deadline reports. The Duplass brothers, who have been behind movies like Jeff Who Lives at Home, Cyrus, and The Puffy Chair, will write, direct, and produce the series, which follows two couples living under the roof and trying to keep their relationships alive while pursuing their individual dreams. Mark Duplass, who's currently starring in the FX series The League, is not expect to act in Togetherness. HBO's new Duplass brothers comedy Togetherness premiered last night, and the pay network has also made the first episode available in full on YouTube. The show follows "four adults nearing 40, living under the same roof and struggling to keep their relationships and their dreams alive" and stars Mark Duplass, Melanie Lynskey, Amanda Peet, and Steve Zissis with guest appearances set from Peter Gallagher and Mary Steenburgen. Duplass Brothers Comedy 'Togetherness' Premieres on HBO January 11th

A year after ordering a pilot written and directed by Jay and Mark Duplass called Togetherness, HBO announced today that the new comedy series will debut its eight-episode season on the network Sunday, January 11th at 9:30pm. The show follows "four adults nearing 40, living under the same roof and struggling to keep their relationships and their dreams alive" and stars Mark Duplass, Melanie Lynskey, Amanda Peet, and Steve Zissis, with guest appearances set from Peter Gallagher and Mary Steenburgen.
