Watch 'The Sarah Silverman Program's Tribute to Harris Wittels

Not long after posting a compilation of Harris Wittels Vines, Sarah Silverman Program co-creator Rob Schrab uploaded a new video yesterday looking back on Wittels' work and appearances on the show during his time as a writer. Be warned that this video contains a very NSFW snow sculpture as well as a cover of "First Day of My Life" by Silverman that will break your heart and make your eyes a little misty.

Rodney Dangerfield's Wife Launches Site Dedicated to the Late Comic

Rodney Dangerfield's wife Joan today launched Rodney.com, a site dedicated the career and legacy of the late comedian. The site includes hand-written jokes and set lists, clips from television appearances dating back to a spot on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1970, and a competition to win one of Dangerfield's old cars. Dangerfield passed away in 2004 at the age of 82.

Meanwhile, The Hollywood Reporter has an interesting look at the Dangerfield marriage, including the fact that Joan keeps a bottle of Rodney's sweat in a "crystal decanter for special occasions." It also reveals that Rodney was a math genius and a pothead who considered cloning himself.

Mitch Hedberg: Different Ingredients

Deep in the desert of Death Valley, there sits a sleepy little resort called Panamint Springs. The cottages and modest restaurant there are a part of no town, connected to no power grid. For several years, the normally quiet cacti and climes were invaded once a year in the peak of heat for four days by a loose band of comedians and their friends. In the summer of 2005, there were seventy-three of us.

On June 5th, the Sunday night of this four-day party, comedian Emery-Emery read a newspaper article about Pope John Paul II, but instead of the Pope’s name, he inserted fellow comedian Mitch Hedberg’s, both of [...]

Jimmy Kimmel Says Goodbye To America's Crazy Uncle, Uncle Frank

It's weird and touching to see a performer as polished as a late night host start to lose it, so as you can imagine how verklempt you're about to get watching Jimmy Kimmel's tribute to Uncle Frank, his trusty sidekick/in-law who passed away at the end of last month. It's also hard to not remember a man fondly after watching him accidentally hit on Kermit the Frog, chase his wife around with cow vagina-covered gloves, and educate the audience on what part of monkeys are safe for human consumption (answer: no parts of them). "I wanna say thanks to my co-workers who talked to him and visited [...]

'The Simpsons' Enlists Ned Flanders for a Touching Marcia Wallace Tribute

Just before the credits rolled on last night's Simpsons episode "The Man Who Grew Too Much," there was a brief but emotional tribute to the late Marcia Wallace, who voiced Edna Krabappel and passed away at age 70 back in October. In the scene, Krabappel's recent husband Flanders envisions them dancing together in a heartfelt dream sequence, and even Nelson chimes in about how much Springfield misses its finest fourth grade teacher.

Remembering Bernie Mac With a Documentary on Comedy Central

Bernie Mac: standup, actor and the only person brave enough to ever hit Samuel L. Jackson with a golf ball. Chris Rock is right when he says "there's only one Bernie." Luckily, we'll get to look back on his early and previously unreleased performances in the upcoming documentary, I Ain't Scared of You: A Tribute to Bernie Mac. Comedy Central is airing the documentary on Feb. 19 (with the DVD out Feb. 21). Save the date.
