David Spade is headed to truTV. THR reports that the network has given an eight-episode series order to Fameless, a "faux-reality improv comedy" also described as "half sketch show, half prank show" executive produced by David Spade. Each episode will follow an improv group paired with one unsuspecting contestant as they take on a different reality show genre like game shows, survival competition shows, and home makeovers to examine the lengths each contestant is willing to go for fame. truTV Orders a Workplace Comedy Pilot Starring Shaquille O'Neal

Shaq might star in his own TruTV comedy series. Deadline reports that the network has handed a pilot order to Shaq Inq., a workplace comedy "in the tone of Veep." Shaq Inq. will follow O'Neal and his "offbeat, yet capable" business team who take on "the mayhem of managing Shaq’s existing products and endorsements while implementing his latest batch of eccentric and oftentimes brilliant business ideas. truTV Orders Its First Scripted Comedy Pilot 'Those Who Can't'

After the success of its first sketch show Friends of the People, TruTV is adding its first scripted comedy pilot. Deadline reports that the network has ordered a pilot called Those Who Can't created by and starring Adam Cayton-Holland, Andrew Orvedahl, and Ben Roy of the Denver comedy trio The Grawlix. The series will be set in Denver and follow Cayton-Holland, Orvedahl, and Roy as "three dysfunctional high school teachers who are as screwed-up as the kids they teach. Reality-focused cable network TruTV is expanding into scripted programming, and here's a sketch about Steve Urkel from their first-ever sketch show, Friends of the People. The 10-episode first season debuts later this year and features a cast that includes Kevin Barnett, Jennifer Bartels, Jermaine Fowler, Lil Rel Howery, Keith Lucas, Kenny Lucas, and Josh Rabinowitz, having grown out of Fox's failed 2011 In Living Color reboot.

truTV Orders 'Six Degrees of Everything' from The Fine Brothers

truTV keeps adding more comedies to its lineup, and the latest project comes from YouTube stars The Fine Brothers. According to THR, the network has given a 10-episode order to a half-hour series called Six Degrees of Everything starring Benny and Rafi Fine "where they try to prove that anything in the world can be connected in six degrees." Adam Conover's 'Adam Ruins Everything' Ordered to Pilot at truTV

truTV is filling up its comedy roster. The network announced today that it's ordered a half-hour pilot for Adam Ruins Everything based on Adam Conover's hit CollegeHumor series of the same name. Like the web series, the pilot will follow Conover as he "explores topics and ideas many people take for granted and dispels widespread misconceptions through a combination of comedy, history, and science." Tumblr and truTV Team Up for "Big Deal" TV Development Contest

Not long after renewing its hit sketch show Friends of the People, truTV has teamed up with Tumblr to seek out new ideas for unscripted comedy series. According to The Wrap, the "Big Deal Contest" calls for submissions from Tumblr users for "unique unscripted comedic formats featuring likable authentic characters." truTV's president Chris Linn said the network is looking for "shows that take us to new and unexpected places; shows that make us laugh … or that simply amaze us. According to Deadline, the channel has ordered 10 episodes of Friends of the People, a blend of scripted sketches and man-on-the-street segments that will star The Lucas Brothers, Kevin Barnett (Guy Code), Josh Rabinowitz (I Just Want My Pants Back), and Jermaine Fowler, Jennifer Bartels, and Lil Rel Howery, who were attached to the In Living Color reboot. Denver comedy group The Grawlix is officially headed to truTV. The network announced today that it's given a 10-episode series order to its first scripted comedy from Grawlix, Those Who Can't, which was ordered to pilot in December. The series will follow three Denver high school teachers played by Adam Cayton-Holland, Andrew Orvedahl, and Ben Roy, and Eagleheart's Maria Thayer has also been cast as a school librarian. Those Who Can't will debut on truTV sometime next year.

'Billy on the Street' Renewed for Season 4 on truTV

Billy Eichner's hit Fuse show Billy on the Street just got a season 4 renewal and brand new home. According to THR, Eichner recently signed a deal with Turner Broadcasting that includes a 10-episode fourth season of his man-on-the-street pop culture quiz show to premiere later this year on TruTV. An exact premiere date has not been announced, but production on the new season starts this spring in New York. Good news for fans of truTV's debut sketch show Friends of the People: Variety reports that the network has officially renewed it for a second season.
