Curb Your Enthusiasm's Jeff Garlin has been added to the cast of a new ABC pilot called How the Hell Am I Normal?, according to Deadline. The family sitcom will star Garlin and Wendi McClendon-Covey (Bridesmaids, Reno 911!) as the "gruff but lovable" father and "in-your-face mother" of three eccentric kids. The show was created by Adam F. Goldberg (Breaking In, Still Standing), and the pilot will be directed by Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses, King of Kong). If How the Hell Am I Normal? gets picked up and ordered to series for the fall, it could mean Jeff Garlin won't be able to star in a hypothetical ninth [...]
Speaking of Bridesmaids at the Comedy Awards, Wendi McLendon-Covey was in attendance and Laughspin asked her about the possibility of a sequel without Kristen Wiig. To which she responded, “No. It has to be Kristen…No one has the time to write it, but I know we’d all be on board if someone wrote it and if it was good. Kristen will be busy for the rest of her natural life, and we’ve all been pretty busy.” This comes after basically everyoneinvolved has said the same thing and touches on a much bigger point, Bridesmaids was undoubtedly a big movie but it doesn't have to be the [...]
Before we get our specially-tailored bridesmaids' undergarments in a twist over the Wiigless Bridesmaids 2, Wendi McLendon-Covey has pointed out that Kristen Wiig might write a sequel after all:
She never said that she didn't want to do it…All she said was that she's not working on it right this minute because someone gave her the opportunity to write and direct her own film so, duh, she's going to do that first. So no. I think all she's waiting for is for her and Annie [Mumolo] to come up with an idea that's equally as good…It just won't happen in the next six months.
Harper's Bridesmaids photos are almost painfully cute, but the real delight is their Bridesmaids behind-the-scenes video, which begs the question: what have we been doing without Maya Rudolph in our lives on a regular basis? "I did that once, and I actually had one of my children with me," Rudolph announces, fondly recalling an accident drunk shopping spree. The cast also riffs on weddings, girl-on-girl, and the incredibly fun working environment they fostered on set. "I just want to lock everyone in a room for two weeks," Melissa McCarthy admits. They are all so are so charming, you almost forget that the video is egregiously titled "The [...]
Wendi McLendon-Covey, best known for her roles in Bridesmaids and Reno 911!, has been cast in a new untitled comedy pilot (formerly called How the F— Am I Normal?) for ABC, TV Line reports. It's a family sitcom set in the 1980s, based on the childhood of creator Adam F. Goldberg (creator of Fox's short-lived Christian Slater sitcom Breaking In). McLendon-Covey will play Beverly Gold, the female lead, an overbearing loudmouth mom who, along with her hot-tempered husband, can't stand to see their three eccentric kids grow up. The pilot will be directed by Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses, The King of Kong), produced by Adam Sandler's company [...]
An early 2013 UK release date has been set for the London-filmed I Give It a Year, starring Rose Byrne, Anna Faris and Stephen Merchant, and written and directed by Sacha Baron Cohen collaborator Dan Mazer. It's a comedy about "a young couple in their first year of marriage," or as they say in England, "a young couple in their first year of marriage."
Right in time for the "Melissa McCarthy only got an Emmy because of Bridesmaids" backlash, here come the deleted scenes to remind us that she and Wendi McLendon-Covey deserve all the Emmys everywhere, plus matching Purple Hearts for bravery, a Nobel Peace Prize and the key to the city from the mayor. Which city, you ask? Shhh, I respond softly, stroking your hair. Stop asking questions and watch the deleted scenes.
- On August 29, Zach Braff is rejoining his chocolate bear Donald Faison with a guest spot on The Exes, the TV Land show that Faison stars on with Wayne Knight. Hopefully, next The Exes will reunite the comedy duo of Wayne Knight and that dinosaur that spits acid.
- The Mindy Project has found their first love interest for Mindy in Tommy Dewey. The actor, who is mostly an unknown, will play a hotshot lawyer who is a real gets-what-he-wants type.
- Jenny Slate is set to have a recurring arc on Raising Hope as a social worker who comes to check in on [...]
Jason Jones of The Daily Show has signed on to play an Interpol agent in heist comedy The Black Marks. Also, Kurt Russell's character is going to be named Crunch Calhoun. These two facts alone should mean you've already purchased a ticket.
I could not be more glad to hear Wendi McLendon-Covey was cast on Magic Mike, since the woman never stops killing it. McLendon-Covey will star alongside Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer and Matthew McConaughey in the film, which follows Pettyfer as he learns the oil-coated, tear-away ropes from Tatum's more experienced stripper. Vulture notes that Pettyfer's mom has yet to be cast, which would be flawless, as would the world-weary pole vet that immediate sprang into our collective mind.
