On Trade Roundup: Horrible Bosses 2, Paul Rudd, Kristen Wiig, Owen Wilson, Kurt Russell
The episode of This American Life about that TV repairman is great! And all those people are great! I hope it's great.

On How the Most Anticipated Comedies of 2011 Fared
"There really wasn’t anything wrong with The Muppets." Yes, there was. Tex Richman's rap and Me Party were awful songs. Most of the meta "we're in a movie" jokes didn't land. Too much focus on the human characters got tedious (and I have a lot of love for both Adams and Segel). I am genuinely pleased that there were people who liked it, but I found it very difficult to see past its flaws.

On 2011: The Year of Women in Sitcoms, at Least According to the Liberal Media
@Anthony Coro agreed. Eliza Coupe always makes the funniest/best/most interesting choice possible with each line/gesture/instance of her fingers ending up in her mouth.

On What Do Girls Say About the Shit Girls Say Web Series?
I will lady-second Hallie's thoughts re: it being a bummer that Girl is not played by a girl and also re: it being entertaining. But seriously, why is it a dude?

On SNL Recap: Anna Faris and Happy (Early) Halloween!
I'm with jduncanhansen - Manuel Ortiz could disappear forever and I'd be happy but OH MAN do I ever love "What Up with That". The "Tell Him" sketch was "a fun idea with a lot of truth"? I am genuinely confused by this. The whole thing seemed to be based on Cosmo stereotypes, not reality. I liked the idea of updating that song for today, but they did it in a way that relied on tired jokes (or "jokes") that didn't work for me.

On The Office Recap: "Lotto"
I've always liked Andy and Darryl's relationship, and it's great that we're getting to see it evolve. However: I was distracted for the whole episode because the warehouse guys totally could not quit their jobs! Maybe if they'd won $950 million, but $950,000 split amongst them wouldn't go that far, especially if they're opening a strip boat.

On Can Whitney Survive Its Ad Campaign? A Discussion
I have been wondering these exact thoughts since these ads started popping up everywhere. The ads make me want to watch the pilot to see how bad it is, but if I go into a show wanting to hate it, I probably will. They have also made me never want to seek out her comedy (though it sounds like maybe I should?) Also "When Whitney flops down on the ground, the dust that drifts into the sky says, "Women need to shut their yappers!"" = genius.

On One Night at Asssscat, or What to Do With a Date Rape Monologue
Great post. The fact that he was so, so confused by why everyone was booing him is both terrifying - that there are people like that in the world - and pitiable - because clearly no one has taught him that that's not how you act, or talk.

On If an Attractive Woman is Single, She Must Be Married to Her Job
When in Rome, which, honestly, I didn't totally hate, has a bit of that going on with Kristen Bell, although her workaholic tendencies are apparently a direct reaction to being dumped. No Reservations adds a heartwarming child into the equation. The Ugly Truth made me want to shiv someone.

On One Hour of Poehler & Lynch and One Tragically Unreleased Movie Trailer
Yeah, I watched Spring Breakdown on Netflix Instant and while I still hold all those ladies dear to my heart, it was not great.
