On Looking at Hong Kong Humor
Any Hong Kong comedy is good as long as it does not involve Wong Jing, responsible for every single Kill Bill rip-off since those movies came out. Also Jet Li starred in a movie making fun of Jackie Chan's penis size (don't know how he didn't get sued.) Stephen Chow made dozens of comedies and was in 18 over one two-year period in the early 90s, no wonder he takes it slow these days. Some of the earlier ones rely on Cantonese puns for the jokes and so are impenetrable. Also the "legal comedies" and ones based on books are hard to follow. My favourite of Stephen Chow are Love on Delivery and God of Cookery, a send-up of Iron Chef.

On Wow: Fox Is Considering an All-Simpsons Channel
Local free-to air channel screened the show twice a day and couldn't even manage a month without going back to a first-season episode. Pah!

Book in for the screenings as they will sell out if the ones at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image are any guide when they had it a few years back. Hardly any kids, was all 30 year olds and older.

"The Interrupter" was my favourite and he can also be found in an Arthur Conan Doyle story "The Lost World" (not in the same context.) Chewbacca stuck in a glory hole? There was a lot random stuff on the old show.
