By HerooftheBeach on Twitter's Megan Amram on Nightmare Hipster Comedy and Her Internet Encounter With Rosie O'Donnell
The whole thing about Harvard and comedy is that there is/was a good ol' boys network that promoted funny people (read: men) who came through Harvard. In my opinion, it's allowed to exist because it gave us National Lampoon, The Simpsons and Conan O'Brien. The comedy world isn't actually a worse place for that network existing. But I think it's pretty obvious that Megan didn't participate in that at all, and that she invented her own path to success. (How on earth would Harvard help you on Twitter anyway?) The fact that she went to Harvard tells us that she is smart, driven and ambitious, which are definitely qualities you'd expect in someone who finds success via Twitter. I don't think it actually says anything else. She is a fantastic writer and she's popular because she's hilarious. Ya burnt.
