On Checking In...with the Stars of Fox’s Lesser-Known Sunday Night Shows

I vaguely recall that "Too Something" held a contest to find a better title. The winner was "New York Daze." The show was promptly canceled after that.

On Remembering David Angell

This is a really nice piece. As a fan of Frasier and Cheers, David Angell's passing was very affecting. It's sad to think about the other great shows he would have given us.

On 10 Promising TV Series That Weren’t Picked Up

@HernandezBobby It's basically the greatest half-hour of TV ever produced. To each their own.

On 10 Promising TV Series That Weren’t Picked Up

@Bradford Evans Both were part of the "Other Network," a live show of unaired pilots that played in NYC and LA and other cities. That's where I saw many of the pilots on the list. Also, the short-lived Trio TV network ran Beat Cops (which is good) and "Sick in the Head." Definitely see "North Hollywood" if you can. I think parts have turned up online.

On 10 Promising TV Series That Weren’t Picked Up

"North Hollywood," another pilot Judd Apatow did with Amy Poehler and Jason Segel, is way better than "Sick in the Head." Struggling actors in LA, single-camera, based on Apatow's days with Sandler. Like a funny version of "Funny People." Seth Rogen's in it, along with Phil Hendrie, Colin Hanks, and more. Also, Judge Reinhold plays Judge Reinhold. "Sick in the Head" is fine, but it struggles with a laugh-track and a hackneyed premise. (A therapist with "wacky" patients.)"North Hollywood" is single-camera and more in keeping with future Apatow/Segel/Rogen work. Look for it! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0777259/

On Your Comedy Is So Much Cooler Than Mine

"You did Fez. You did Luna Lounge. You did the old Largo. You did Eating It. You did Invite Them Up. You did Tinkle. You did Rififi." You are 40 years old, minimum. Fez has been closed for like a decade.

On George Lopez Says Goodnight

And thus, the only multicultural talk show on TV draws to a close. Whether it was good or not, it catered to an under-served audience. Enjoy being exclusively for white people, talk shows.

On ONN Writers Unionize Under WGAE, Keep The Fake Headlines Coming

Great! Now the WGA should get benefits for the Onion and AV Club writers who aren't working for a major cable channel. Like the AV Club editor who was injured by a flash mob in Philly and doesn't have health insurance through her employer. http://www.avclub.com/philadelphia/articles/av-club-editor-injured-in-flash-mob-attack-in-phil,58134/

On The Earwolf Challenge: America’s First Reality Competition Podcast

Why don't they just get it over with and give it to "Totally Laime," aka the only one of these podcasts that isn't "a bunch of white guys sitting around and talking for an hour"?

On Tina Fey Tries, Fails To Celebrate Great Women Writers

Wow, uh, you totally missed the point of that one. I wouldn't be surprised if Fey wrote that bit. It was actually a lot sharper than the predictable "host and guest star sing a song" opening they went with. Also, the "male announcer" is clearly Bill Hader. I'm all for promoting female comedy writers, but come on. Clearly this bit is ripping on the "a woman has to be attractive or she's useless" mentality prevalent in the media. Just so I'm clear...this is a comedy blog, right? Cause this post is pretty humorless.
