On What Do You Think of Bill Burr's Rant Against the Alternative Comedy Scene?

I don't think there's any way for a stand up to have a career without shitty gigs--I'm not in the industry or anything, but from what I understand the nicer alt environments (UCB and the like) don't tend to pay. The Improv road gig with the bachelorette party in the first row does. Seems like a strawman to me. And, for what it's worth, I really respect Bill Burr. He did a show at my very small college in 2002 in the middle of an ice storm. It was so bad that about 8 people showed up, but he WORKED for us like there were 100.

Jordan and Jesse's obsessions with random comedy bits is one of my favorite things to hear about on JJGo. I remember a previous episode featuring a Conan writer where Jordan said he thinks about the Shoeverine bit at least once every day.

On Darrell Hammond's SNL and Drug Abuse Memoir: God, If You're Not Up There, I'm F*cked

Darrell Hammond is the A#1 most fucked-up seeming comic I have ever seen perform, and I've seen Doug Benson twice. I will read this just to figure out what exactly he was on--he was like someone who'd just gotten out of surgery.
