On What Do We Think of The First Scene of The Dictator?

I didn't even crack a smile. Funny beards haven't been funny since Laurel and Hardy. Hah hah! Killing people is funny! Shemp is a genius!

On South Park Recap: "I Should Have Never Gone Ziplining"

If you are going to do a parody of boring television, and do it accurately, you are going to end up with a boring show. I didn't laugh a lot during this episode, but I sat in admiration of how well they did what they did. I have enough self control to avoid most bad TV. What this episode reminded me of was Mythbusters and Deadliest Warrior. Two shows that I like, but that stretch ten minutes of content out for an hour by running the same five minutes before and after every commercial break. It is enough to make you rip the arms of your chair off. My only real problem with the episode? Why weren't live-action Stan and Kyle wearing their hats?

On What Is the Single Best Sitcom Episode of All Time?

The Cheers pilot. The Barney Miller hash brownies episode. The WKRP turkey drop. The South Park Tourettes episode. Mary Tyler Moore's funeral for Chuckles. But if I can pick only one, it would be the Cheers pilot. It was just perfect, not only as a pilot, setting up a host of characters and plots, but also as an hysterically funny half hour of TV. "Is there an Ernie Pantuzo here?" "That's you, Coach." "Speaking."
