On Accepting Community's Ratings for What They Are

Well, they yanked it with no notice, and with no clear idea if they would return. I guess it would have made sense to retool and go a little more mainstream, but I don't get the sense that they had any direction from NBC (imagine that!) In the end, whether they get a 4th season or not, we will remember Community as a show that didn't stoop or pander...and ultimately paid the price for it.

On The Daily Show Asks, Who's the Funnier Presidential Candidate, The Nerd or The Rich Uncle?

Weird bit. Noting the irrelevance of a Diane Sawyer question? A-plus... Picking up the ball and stretching that single irrelevant question into an entire segment? D-minus

On Don't Re-Boo an Office Reboot

Happy Days was on for, like 12 years. I never watched past season 5 or 6, so those sh*tty Joanie and Chachi years don't taint the memory for me. Same with All in the Family. And I haven't seen a Simpsons ep in about 10 years. So, we do have the choice to preserve our fond memories. On the other hand, THIS was supposed to be the rebuilding year for The Office. I was wary, but thought that Spader was a truly inspired choice. I say they had their shot at a reboot. Why not take a chance on something new, when you're already in the ratings basement?

On Lennon Parham and Jessica St. Clair Talk to Carson Daly about Interning at UCB and News Anchor Hair

want SO MUCH to love this show. but busting out "It's Raining Men" on episode TWO? Bleh. I guess you play to your demo however you can. And it's not like you can count on NBC to promote you. So, not sure about this one long-haul, but it's miles above 2 Broke Girls.

On The Muslims Are Coming! With Your Help

Jon Stewart, David Cross, Janeane Garofalo, and Rachel Maddow... so, pretty politically balanced then?

On The Simpsons' Springfield is Every Springfield but Your Springfield, Nerd

Without editorializing, I can say that I saw every episode the 1st ten years, but I haven't seen one for the past 10 years. I liked the movie, though. So, what's the verdict? Is it still any good?
