For recurring characters, how about the first Samurai sketch, and the time Belushi cut Buck Henry's eye in a later Samurai sketch? More recurring characters: the Killer Bees; Mr. Bill; Roseanne Rosanadana; Emily Latella; Nick the Lounge Singer; Belushi doing commentary on Weekend Update ("but nooooo!"); Fernando; Ed Grimley (although he started on SCTV). Historic: First show to be titled "Saturday Night Live" instead of the original "NBC's Saturday Night."
