On The Simpsons' Wonderful Parodies of Pixar, Wallace & Gromit, and Other Animated Films

the quality of these parodies lies in the spot-on animation. i watched the show last night & again just now & still can't think of any memorable gags (well, memorable GOOD gags, anyway) in any of these bits. the only thing i came away with was that it looked good & was probably really expensive to do. oh, and that the current writers of the simpsons have never seen / read "persepolis".

On Mitch Hurwitz's Guide to Getting a Sitcom Cancelled

yeah, uh.. i tuned in for the duration of running wilde, but it never got any better than "eh, maybe next week will be when the show takes off". so really, mitch hurwitz is the poster boy for following up one great show that was lamentably cancelled after 52 episodes with two mediocre shows (yes, "sit down, shut up" DID happen) that were rightly canned after a handful of airings. honestly, the dude needs to get himself a show on cable that might not pay as much as network but would guarantee steady work & creative fulfillment for a few years.

On Entertainment Weekly Dubs Parks and Rec "TV's Smartest Comedy"

you're wrong in the way someone who criticizes something yet knows little to nothing about it is wrong, but i'm more than a little impressed that you strongly think that you're not.

On Please Stop Quoting These Comedies Forever Immediately

i agree with everything mike posted. i like seinfeld (the show, not the guy who made bee movie & the marriage ref) just fine but i've heard enough people quote it for two lifetimes. obscure quotes would be fine, but i've never come across someone who quotes anything but the lines that were tired a week after the episodes first aired. additionally: why would ANYONE quote "slackers"? if "master of disguise" didn't exist, it would have easily taken the dubious honor of "most universally reviled film of 2002".
